Chris is a Senior News Writer for Collider. He can be found in an IMAX screen, with his eyes watering and his ears bleeding for his own pleasure. He joined the news team in 2022 and accidentally fell upwards into a senior position despite his best efforts.

For reasons unknown, he enjoys analyzing box office receipts, giant sharks, and has become known as the go-to man for all things BoschMission: Impossible and Christopher Nolan in Collider's news division. Recently, he found himself yeehawing along to the Dutton saga on the Yellowstone Ranch.

He is proficient in sarcasm, wit, Photoshop and working unfeasibly long hours. Amongst his passions sit the likes of the history of the Walt Disney Company, the construction of theme parks, steam trains and binge-watching Gilmore Girls with a coffee that is just hot enough to scald him.

His obsession with the Apple TV+ series Silo is the subject of mockery within the Senior News channel, where his feelings about Taylor Sheridan's work are enough to make his fellow writers roll their eyes.

As part of Collider’s Exclusive Spring Preview, we’re excited to debut a brand-new image from Netflix’s upcoming crime thriller Detective Hole — and it’s already crackling with tension. Our exclusive sneak peek captures Tobias Santelmann’s Harry Hole and Joel Kinnaman’s Tom Waaler locked in a charged confrontation. The two men appear to be locked in what looks like a battle of wills, or at the very least an incredibly tense conversation — a moment that visually reinforces the series’ central conflict: justice versus corruption, and from the looks of it, neither is backing down.

Based on the bestselling Harry Hole novels by Jo Nesbø, Detective Hole follows the brooding anti-hero detective as he hunts a serial killer while also clashing with his most dangerous adversary yet — the corrupt and calculating Waaler. The series, created and written for the screen by Nesbø himself, premieres on Netflix on March 26. The official teaser wastes no time establishing Harry as a complicated figure. When asked what it’s like working with him, a colleague admits he’s the best at what he does — “He’s just not that good at everything else.” That line sums him up perfectly: brilliant on the job, reckless everywhere else. He punches suspects in alleyways, bends the rules to get results, and shows up to work barely holding himself together.

Now, while these two titans are going head-to-head, Nesbø has also landed quite the ensemble to fill out his adaptation, including Pia Tjelta, Ellen Helinder, Anders Baasmo, Maxime Baune Bochud, Kåre Conradi, Simon J. Berger, Peter Stormare, Fridtjov Såheim, Eili Harboe, Atle Antonsen, Manish Sharma, Jesper Christensen, Kristoffer Joner, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Linn Skåber, Jonas Strand Gravli, Sonny Lindberg, Agnes Kittelsen, Nader Khademi, Agot Sendstad, Maja Christiansen, Frank Kjosås, Kelly Gale, Oddgeir Thune, Ravdeep Singh Bajwa, Henrik Mestad, Ingar Helge Gimle, Henriette Steenstrup, Helge Jordal, Eirik Hallert, Anders Danielsen Lie, Ane Dahl Torp, and Dagny.

Directing duties fall to Øystein Karlsen and Anna Zackrisson, with Working Title producing. And Detective Hole isn’t the only Jo Nesbø adaptation in the works. Elsewhere, Cary Joji Fukunaga is directing an adaptation of Blood on Snow starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Benedict Cumberbatch, while producer Frederik Wikström is attached to bring The Night House to the screen, but for now, all eyes are on Harry Hole.

Detective Hole premieres March 26 on Netflix. Check out our previews of the hottest upcoming television and film projects here, at Collider’s Exclusive Spring Preview.
