Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner’s Son Samuel Is The Perfect Mix of His Parents in Rare Photos
Jennifer Garner is embracing this non-elektrafying title from her kids.
Indeed, the Alias alum admitted Violet, 20, Seraphina, 17, and Samuel, 13—whom she shares with ex-husband Ben Affleck—believe she’s “fully cringe” sometimes, especially when she asked them about her latest role in Apple TV’s The Last Thing He Told Me.
“I am only embarrassing,” Jennifer explained during her Feb. 18 appearance alongside costars Angourie Rice, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Judy Greer on the Jennifer Hudson Show. “I asked my kids if they were going to watch this season of the show, and they were like, ‘Do you need us to?’”
However, the 53-year-old (who stars as Hannah Hall in the adaptation of Laura Dave’s 2021 book of the same name) didn’t take offense to her children’s response, as she noted most “kids don’t want to see their parents cry” or in “a romantic scene.”
But despite that amusing interaction, Jennifer shared her connection to Judy, Angourie and Nikolaj—a fan-favorite from his time on Game of Thrones—is helping her beat her awkward reputation at home.
“Angourie gives me cool points,” she explained, before showing love to Nikolaj. “My son is really into Game of Thrones right now, so thank you. And my kids all love Aunt Judy. I get by with a little help from my friends.”
This isn’t the first time the 13 Going on 30 actor, who’s dating John Miller, has reflected on a cringy memory. In fact, Jennifer revealed she had a “mom fail” while checking in with her kids’ sports coach a few years ago.
“I emailed the coach one weekend, kind of being funny about my kid and saying, ‘Well, this one seems to be getting a little womped this weekend,’” she said on The Late Late Show with James Corden in 2022. ‘“So, what does that mean for tomorrow morning because we have something planned? What does that mean typically?’ I thought I was being funny.”

But to her horror, Jennifer accidentally sent the message to the parent group she was in at the time.
“Turns out, it’s the one time in my life I replied all,” she joked. “I replied to everyone on the team.”
And as the Daredevil star continues to look back at these lighthearted moments, she and Ben—who finalized their divorce in 2018—are encouraging their children to follow their dreams instead of pushing them towards a career in Hollywood.
“You put something on your children when you have a public life and that’s complicated,” Ben told E! News on Jan. 13. “We really want to give them room to figure out what they want to do. “They’re brilliant, lovely and wonderful. We love them and we’re proud of them and hope that they don’t waste their life acting.”
