Jennifer is a TV and Movie News Editor at ScreenRant. She started her journey in entertainment media in 2022 when she first joined Valnet at CBR before coming to ScreenRant.

Jennifer loves TV, especially science fiction. She also loves late-night talk shows, due to her insomnia. Alien: Earth is definitely one of her favorite shows, and she jumps on any chance she gets to write about it. Even on her days off, she will claim an Alien Earth article if one is available.

Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon are two of her favorite late-night hosts, and Conan O'Brien before he left his show.

Her Alien: Earth coverage for ScreenRant is by far the work that she is most proud of so far.

She was initially a finance and political editor, but her passion for pop culture convinced her to transition into entertainment journalism.

During her off time, she loves to binge-watch cooking shows such as Kitchen Nightmares. Jennifer also loves spending time with her daughter and cherishes every moment of it.

Audiences now have a new reason and way to revisit one of Jason Statham’s most intense films, The Mechanic.

The remake focuses on Arthur Bishop (Statham), a “mechanic” who doubles as one of the best assassins in the business. He also has very strict boundaries, he will not mix work with his personal life. However, this all changes when a mission goes wrong. After his mentor and close friend is killed, Bishop must take in his son. And, he eventually begins to train him.

The reboot of The Mechanic is officially available to stream on Paramount+ (as of May 1), giving subscribers a chance to rewatch or discover the film for the very first time. The 2011 adaptation stars Donald Sutherland (Harry McKenna), Ben Foster (Steve McKenna), Mini Anden (Sarah), Tony Goldwyn (Dean Sanderson), David Leitch (Sebastian), Christa Campbell (Kelly), John McConnell (Vaughn), and more alongside Statham in the leading role.

The Mechanic's arrival on Paramount+ comes at a very volatile time for the streaming platform's company, Paramount Skydance. The studio recently made a deal to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery. While an agreement was made, several people and corporations in the entertainment industry have been pushing back against the agreement in fear that the arrangement would deny future projects theatrical releases and put them all on its streaming platform instead.

Paramount's agreement with Warner Bros. followed a heated bidding war with Netflix. The latter initially struck a deal with the studio. However, Paramount wouldn't take no for an answer and fought back until Netflix dropped out of the contest altogether. The streaming giant stated that offering Warner Bros. Discovery more than it was willing to offer would be financially irresponsible and not worth it.

Statham's reboot of The Mechanic is now available to stream on Paramount+.
