A new Sci-Fi title is coming to Steam soon, and Cyberpunk 2077 and Fallout fans should keep an eye out for it. The ambitious game takes its cues from the genre hits, setting an epic adventure in a world of machines and tech.
The post-apocalyptic setting of Fallout will collide with the mahcine-led world and themes of Cyberpunk 2077. And, like the Sci-Fi hits it draws inspiration from, this new game will explore the meaning of humanity.
The upcoming Steam game is titled Supreme Experiment, and though it has no release date yet, it's a must-watch for Sci-Fi game fans. The game is the debut title of Argunov Games, a studio that got its start in TV and film production.
Though this is Argunov Studios' first foray into gaming, the studio has plenty of previous projects that show its eye for cinema and narrative and make Supreme Experiment an exciting game to look forward to.
Supreme Experiment is a first-person shooter that throws players into a post-apocalyptic world. In this universe, toxic clouds have forced humans into cities that reach miles into the air. Underneath, on the surface of the Earth, machines were left to live and survive on their own.
Left to their own devices, the machines have evolved into a whole new species, with their own belief systems. The tech on the surface was supposed to keep the gears turning for the humans in their ivory towers.
One day, everything just... stops. The well-oiled systems grind to a halt and the surviving humans face a potential calamity. Without their machine support, they're forced to do something they'd never done before: send someone to the surface below to investigate.
You play as this scout, on a journey to figure out what happened to the machines that were supposed to keep the humans alive—and figure out how to restore them to working order. What you find is a very strange place where nature and machines merge into a unique environment.
Players are sent to explore this strange post-apocalyptic world and uncover its secrets. Along the way, they'll uncover multiple layers of reality, building on the physical realm with digital augments using a neural implant. With this implant, players will be able to scan QR codes, hack terminals, read logs, and unlock more information about why the system ground to a halt.
In the process, players will finally uncover what really happened to the world. Supreme Experiment has no release date yet, but it's available to wishlist on Steam.
