Shrishty is a decade-old journalist covering a variety of beats between politics to pop culture, but movies are her first love, which led her to study Film and TV Development at UCLAx. She lives and breathes cinema and sometimes wakes up with the close-up shot of Ryan Gosling's hands playing piano in La La Land, in her head.

She has worked with numerous media outlets, including Burda Media (MSN News), DKODING Media, The Voice of Fashion, Hindustan Times, and more. Throughout her career, she has interviewed an array of people, from CEOs and politicians to filmmakers and farmers.

Jason Statham is an undisputed action icon. The actor has given us some amazing high-octane thrillers, heist movies, and ensemble action franchises including The Transporter, The Meg, Fast X, Expendables, and newer entries like The Beekeeper, A Working Man, among others. He's loved for his extensive stunt work, stoic characters, and anti-hero roles that put him right in the league of other beloved action stars like Keanu Reeves, Tom Cruise, and Sylvester Stallone. He’s currently getting praise for his latest release, Shelter, a thriller directed by Ric Roman Waugh.

Statham has a great filmography where he excels at playing a “lone wolf” kind of character, who is sucked back into a violent life for an imperative reason. Fans love to see him go all out on the bad guys, increasing kill count with each film. Among such features is his classic action movie The Mechanic, directed by action vet Simon West. The feature sees him as Arthur Bishop, an assassin who specializes in making his kills look like accidents. It was a box office hit, earning $76.3 million worldwide. The 54 percent Rotten Tomatoes-rated movie’s success led to a sequel, Mechanic: Resurrection.

It follows Bishop, who is forced out of retirement when the woman he loves, Gina (Jessica Alba), is kidnapped by an old enemy. Bishop is blackmailed into performing three impossible assassinations across the globe and making each appear to be an accident. It has a cast full of power-packed performers, including Tommy Lee Jones, Sam Hazeldine, Michelle Yeoh, and more. Despite mixed reviews, it rose as a bigger box office hit, earning $125.8 million worldwide, but interestingly, it never scored a sequel. In time, it has emerged as a popcorn flick that shows up on various streaming top 10 lists, often for its rewatch value, but the fans of the 30 percent Rotten Tomatoes-rated movie have a few days left to see it on streaming. The Mechanic: Resurrection will leave HBO Max at the end of February, as per ComicBook.

What’s Next For Jason Statham?

The actor is booked and busy. Statham will be seen in the highly anticipated The Beekeeper 2, directed by Timo Tjahjanto. Some set images have surfaced online that promise a blood-soaked sequel. He’ll also be seen in Jean-François Richet-directed Mutiny and will reprise fan-favorite Deckard Shaw in the upcoming Fast Forever, which will serve as the final chapter in Vin Diesel's long-running franchise. Another interesting project is Guy Ritchie’s Viva La Madness, where he’ll share the screen with Jason Isaacs and Ben Foster. So there’s plenty to look forward to for the actor’s fans.

Meanwhile, check out Mechanic: Resurrection before it leaves HBO Max on 28 February. Stay tuned to Collider for more such updates.
