She got her big break in 1991 when she landed the role of Lena James on the NBC sitcom, A Different World.

And Jada Pinkett Smith continues to look younger than ever as she enters a new chapter on her 55th birthday.

Jada and Will Smith, 57, who separated in 2016 but are in an unconventional 'life partnership', share son Jaden, 28, and daughter Willow, 25.

The actress has barely aged a day over the past three decades thanks to her healthy lifestyle and making sure she moves her body daily.

She believes that taking care of your body is an 'act of self-love', yet Jada rarely enters the gym for longer than 45 minutes.

The American TV star enjoys a daily cardio session for 20 minutes or when she finds herself caught up with work, she goes for a brisk walk outside.

'Everybody's thinking you gotta be in the gym for an hour and a half', she told BET. 'Literally, I'm never in the gym longer than 45 minutes.

'Just be consistent—that's it! It doesn't necessarily have to be intense, and you will see a difference. Just go out of your house and do a brisk walk!'

Jada has found enjoyment out of yoga in recent years rather than intense workouts, in order to relieve tension and increase her flexibility.

'I usually do my yoga at home in the evenings for about an hour', she previously told Women's Health.

She added: 'I used to go so hard on my body. In the gym every day, lifting heavy weights, to have that hard body.

'But now I look my body, it's softer, it's not as firm as it was and I'm just learning to love it that way, and not feel that I have to beat my body up to be this muscle-bound thing.'

And if you wonder where Jada gets her hardcore abs from - core strength exercises with a towel is her secret.

Jada has previously channelled some serious upper body strength using a towel to glide across her hardwood floors.

In an episode of Red Table Talk, Jada introduced viewers to two of her favorite instagram trainers, Brittne Babe and Whitney Simmons.

Britne walked Jada through a no-equipment necessary circuit, focused on mastering the basics, including squats, planks, and burpees.

Meanwhile, Whitney did a few weightlifting exercises, a HIIT workout, and an abs circuit.

Jada has an unusual approach to her diet - that food is 'not meant to be enjoyed, instead it is for nutrition'.

The idea was passed down from her grandmother and it has changed her approach to eating ever since.

Jada eats high-protein foods, leafy greens, and healthy carbohydrates to maintain her energy.

While she prefers functional nutrition, she has noted occasional indulgences like pizza and French fries in the past.
