Jacob Elordi begs paparazzi to leave him alone amid fans' claims his photos are staged - as actor is slammed for wearing sunglasses inside gala with girlfriend Kendall Jenner

Jacob Elordi has pleaded with a paparazzo to stop following him, insisting he was simply driving with his dogs and had no intention of posing for photographs.

The Australian actor, 29, repeatedly asks to be left alone in a leaked audio clip posted on Deuxmoi, telling the photographer he is wasting his time and should find someone who wants the attention.

The recording comes amid claims from some fans that his paparazzi pictures are staged, though no evidence has been provided to support those suggestions. 

Jacob makes his position clear during the exchange, explaining that his girlfriend Kendall Jenner is not with him and refusing a request to cooperate for a few photographs.

'There's no point in doing this. I'm not gonna get out of the car. You're not gonna get a photo of me. It's not gonna happen, so there's really no point,' he says.

'I'm not the one. I'm not with my girlfriend. I'm driving with my dogs. Like, it's just not the day.'

When the photographer asks, 'Would you give me a couple of shots?', Jacob replies: 'No, 'cause it's not my thing.'

The Saltburn star then explains that he plans to return to a gated community, again insisting there will be no opportunity to photograph him.

'I'm gonna go back in the gated community. It's not gonna happen, so you're just wasting your time,' he says.

'Go into West Hollywood and make your money, man, off someone that wants that. Please.'

Jacob acknowledges that the photographer is trying to earn a living, but remains firm about wanting privacy.

'I understand it. I get your bid. I get you're doing what you do, but I'm not gonna have it happen,' he continues.

'I'm gonna spend my whole life not letting it happen. So there's people that you can go and get, and you're gonna make your cash from. I'm just not the one.'

The exchange ends politely, with the photographer saying he respects Jacob's position before the pair wish each other a good day.

The recording's date and the circumstances in which it was made have not been established.

Meanwhile, Jacob has attracted a different kind of attention after keeping his sunglasses on inside the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The actor attended the glittering event with Kendall, 30, with the couple walking the red carpet separately before reuniting inside.

However, some readers were more interested in his choice of eyewear than their glamorous date night.

'Sunglasses? Trying waaay too hard,' one wrote.

'Why is Jacob wearing those glasses all the time?' another reader asked.

A third took aim at the actor's appearance, writing: 'He comes off extremely arrogant. Wearing sunglasses to a party. You are not that special.'

Jacob teamed the dark shades with a black tuxedo, crisp white shirt and bow tie, while Kendall wore a strapless custom Valentino polka dot gown.

Her striking dress featured a fitted black bodice dotted with white spots and a contrasting ivory skirt covered in black dots.

The couple held hands and leaned towards each other for a photograph at their table, giving fans a rare glimpse of their romance at the star-studded dinner.

Jacob and Kendall were first romantically linked in February and have largely kept their relationship out of the spotlight.

Neither has publicly addressed the romance, although their affectionate appearance inside the gala gave onlookers plenty to talk about.
