Though he has a particular affinity for multiplayer titles like World of Warcraft, Destiny 2 and League of Legends, he has also put thousands of hours into single-player experiences, from deep RPGs to epic PC strategies. When he's not playing or writing, he can usually be found supporting his beloved Brentford FC.

The reviews for Spider-Man: Brand New Day are starting to roll in, and it seems like a bit of a middling entry overall for a series that has largely been very well received. There's a certain (and understandable) amount of superhero fatigue in much of the feedback, but the overall feeling is that it doesn't really do enough to bring the series forward.

ScreenRant's own review does still consider it Tom Holland's best solo movie to date, scoring it 7/10, which lines up well with the average Metacritic score of 69%, at the time of writing. We'll have to wait and see what audiences think of the release overall when they have had a chance to see it after it debuts into theaters today, but in the meantime, that's not the only place you'll be able to find Spidey.

Spider-Man Will Return... Right Now

As first reported by IGN, Fortnite has added new Spider-Man, Hulk, and Punisher Skins in a major crossover to celebrate the release of Brand New Day. Not only that, but the event also brings back Spider-Man's iconic web shooters once again, allowing players to swing around the map with ease, flank enemies, and hit some genuinely outrageous highlight reels.

The Item Shop will also be adding Spidey's specific suit from Brand New Day, along with a removable mask so you can see Tom Holland's face, as well as a Hulk skin, and a skin of Jon Bernthal's Punisher. There may well be additional releases as we move forward, but these could be tied to characters who are otherwise remaining a secret until fans have a chance to see the movie.

We may also get additional Spider-Man suits from earlier releases and crossovers between the game and the hero franchise, but there hasn't been any official word on that from Epic Games yet. It's also worth being aware of the fact that Fortnite isn't the only game getting a crossover, as there are some additional suits for players to pick up in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, if the movie gets you in the mood to play again.

Tom Holland as Peter Parker in Spider-Man Brand New day

Brand New Day is really set to serve as the major set piece heading into the release of Avengers: Doomsday, which Marvel are hoping could restore them to the heights of the earlier films. Only time will tell if that pans out as they hope, but with RDJ back as the antagonist this time around, it's probably best to not bet against it.
