Anna Friel was every inch the proud mother after she watched her lookalike daughter Gracie take to the stage at Latitude Festival on Sunday.

The actress, 50, took to Instagram to share behind-the-scenes snaps from the day.

Gracie, 21, is the only child of Anna and her ex-partner David Thewlis, 63, who played Remus Lupin in the Harry Potter films.

The budding singer bore a striking resemblance to her famous mother in the snaps.

Anna wrote: 'Latituuuuude festival vibes. Couldn’t be more proud of @gracie_friel my baba playing her first ever festival.

'Go Gracie. Here is to you . Entering the year of 21 with elegance, discipline, joy and wonder. I love love love you. @tilly_cayton @abbiebottle The best team mates ever. Oh what a memory. Thank you xxx.' (sic).

Fans wrote in the comments: 'There’s nothing like a mother’s beaming pride and joy at her daughter’s achievements!'

'Amazing! Love it. What a talent that beautiful girl is'.

'Absolutely amazing! What a stunning voice to go with your next level talented gifted stunning girl! Brava! To her first of many to come!'

'We really enjoyed listening to Gracie - such a lovely voice and beautiful songs'.

Latitude Festival is an annual four-day British music and arts festival held at Henham Park in Suffolk, England.

Speaking to The Mail previously, Anna confirmed Gracie doesn't want to be an actor: ‘She doesn’t. Her dad’s such a fine actor, she’s grown up on so many sets, she loves the creative world but she’s more into her music.

'Playing guitar is her escape. She says: “It’s your job and you get paid for it. I’ve got great parents.” She’s very good at having a positive attitude.'

Gracie made her singing debut in November last year.

Gracie put on an incredible performance as she opened for rising indie star Nell Mescal – the younger sister of Normal People actor Paul Mescal – at the packed Bristol venue, The Fleece.

A source close to the rising star said at the time: 'This was a huge gig for Gracie. Stepping onto a stage and opening for Nell Mescal, who she adores, means so much to her.

'Anna and David are incredibly proud. They know how hard she's working to make it as a singer.'

The Bristol venue has previously played host to famous acts including Radiohead, Oasis, Amy Winehouse and Ed Sheeran.
