The RPG launches next week
The everything but the kitchen sink RPG Crimson Desert is finally out in a little over a week, but those of us in the realm of personal computers have been left wondering what it is exactly we'll need to run the thing (I'm sure those flashy particle effects take their toll). Well, wonder no longer, intrepid Crimson Deserter, Pearly Abyss have released the PC specs you'll need to be sporting to get this thing running.
No matter what settings you play on, there's three things you'll need for sure: 16GB of RAM, Windows 10 or newer, and 150GB of SSD storage space free. That last one won't be particularly ideal for many folks out there, but such is the cost of playing a big fancy AAA title on your computer in this day and age. The minimum specs are a tad more forgiving, requiring an AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT or Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 for your GPU, and an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X or Intel i5-8500 CPU to play at an upscaled 1080p from 900p at 30 FPS.
That of course does jump way up when you hit the other end at the ultra settings, allowing for 4K and 60FPS, but for a GPU you'll need an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT or an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, and for a CPU you'll need an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X or an Intel i5-13600K. There is also a caveat from Pearl Abyss that notes "figures shown are based on internal testing results. Performance may vary depending on your PC’s hardware and software configuration, as well as changes made to individual graphics settings." As well as this, you will need the latest DirectX 12.
We still don't know how good the thing is or isn't yet, so, hard to say whether those of you can't play it for spec reasons are missing out on anything. We'll find out next week! As it launches on March 19th. At least if you are picking it up, you won't have to worry about microtransactions.
