EXCLUSIVE: Production has wrapped on The Body is Water, the latest feature from Irish filmmaker Vicky Wight, starring Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor and Isiah Whitlock Jr. in his last on-screen performance. Check out a first look image from the film above.
The Body is Water is currently in post-production. Also starring are Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Stephen Rea, Aidan Quinn, Allen Leech, Eva Birthistle, Fionnula Flanagan, Bronagh Gallagher, and Maria Doyle Kennedy.
Set between Houston, Texas, and the weathered coastline of West Cork, Ireland, The Body Is Water follows a grieving man who vanishes to a remote Irish village, only to find that disappearing is the one thing the town — and Lou, an eccentric young woman with a curious dog — won’t let him do.
Wight also produced the film alongside Geoff Linville (20th Century Women, Nomadland), Sydney Augusta Huynh (The Bling Ring, Bad Words), and John Norton of Red Ted Media. Executive producers include Stephen Hall and Mike Jones of Dark Day Pictures, and Coert Voorhees (The Lost Husband, Boy Genius).
Alongside The Body is Water, Wright also recently completed a short documentary titled Zina about tennis legend Zina Garrison. That film was executive-produced by Serena Williams and will premiere at the Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival in April 2026.
