Isaac Heeney's fiancée Steffie Waters has made a major change to her social media account amid the ongoing fallout from the Sydney Swans scandal.

Waters has unpinned the couple's engagement announcement post from the top of her Instagram feed, removing one of the most prominent advertisements of her relationship with the AFL star.

Heeney and four other Swans - Chad Warner, Riley Bice, Nick Blakey and James Jordon - have been stood down for the remainder of the 2026 AFL season after the club found the players had breached its standards by staying out late, drinking and bringing women back to the Pullman East Melbourne hotel in the early hours of Monday, August 17.

It emerged that adult entertainers were brought to the hotel during the gathering, with Victoria Police investigating allegations of an indecent assault that is said to have occurred inside one of the rooms.

On Tuesday, it was reported that police are preparing to interview the five Sydney Swans players as their investigation enters a new phase.

Heeney and Waters announced their engagement in October last year after the footballer proposed during a romantic holiday in French Polynesia.

The latest social media changes come after Waters appeared to be reconsidering her relationship with Heeney last month when she was photographed in tears while holidaying in Noosa and without her engagement ring. (The couple are pictured in happier times)

The couple had shared a series of loved-up photographs from the trip, including shots of Waters showing off her engagement ring, alongside the caption: 'Beyond grateful.'

Despite now being unpinned, the engagement announcement remains on Waters' Instagram grid - although comments have been switched off.

Meanwhile, Heeney has deleted his Instagram page altogether.

The absence of the ring immediately sparked speculation that the couple's relationship had come to an end.

However, a relative subsequently shut down the split rumours, saying that the pair were still a couple.

The relative said the pair had 'remained in contact' and 'had not ended either their relationship or their engagement'. They also explained why Waters' ring was missing, saying it had been taken to a jeweller for repairs after the stone fell out.

Meanwhile, Chad Warner's girlfriend Alice Hughes appears to be standing firmly by the midfielder's side, with the couple spotted together in Sydney on Tuesday.

The Perth-born nurse, who has supported Warner throughout his rise to football stardom, has been with the star player for several years and moved to Sydney after Warner was drafted by the Swans.

She has also accompanied him to high-profile football functions, including the Brownlow Medal, where the pair have previously appeared together on the red carpet.

Three women involved in the night at the Pullman Hotel in Melbourne have made allegations of sexual assault and obtained legal representation, with potential civil action also reportedly being considered.

Police have not charged anyone over the allegations and the investigation remains ongoing.

On Tuesday, it was reported detectives from Victoria Police's Sexual Crimes Squad are expected to travel to Sydney this week to speak with Heeney, Warner, Blakey, Bice and Jordon.

The players have denied any criminal wrongdoing.

Heeney has reportedly been a focus of the investigation to date, while another player may be questioned under caution about his alleged activities inside the hotel room.

Prominent Melbourne criminal lawyer Tony Hargreaves has been called in to represent the players.
