As a hard-working orthopaedic surgeon, it's likely that he rarely has time to even consider his appearance.

With his workplace attire appearing to feature an off-the-rack shirt and tie – complete with staff lanyard and gelled hair – Hannah Waddingham's boyfriend Nicolas Beresford-Cleary could have gone unnoticed in any office.

But his fresh romance with the glamorous Ted Lasso star has clearly given him a new-found Hollywood-style glow.

And giving off some James Bond vibes on Monday, Mr Beresford-Cleary, 46, really looked the part as he posed with the British actress at the Los Angeles premiere of the comedy drama's fourth season.

In a pair of £166 dark green and brown Armani aviator sunglasses and a white shirt and cream linen suit – with £149 Loake brown loafers to set it off – his new look was a world away from the operating theatre.

But unlike 007, the suave surgeon still has an eye for a bargain – with his £90 jacket straight off the shelves of high street retailer H&M.

For her part, Ms Waddingham, who turned 52 on Tuesday, walked the red carpet in a £6,180 gold sculpted dress from Monique Lhuillier.

Mr Beresford-Cleary works at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as well as the private London clinic Grosvenor Orthopaedic Partners and the capital's King Edward VII Hospital – and is known for his 'extensive experience in robotics and navigation in spinal surgery'.

The pair were first spotted together at the Cheltenham Festival in March, but made their red-carpet debut last month at the Variety Power of Women event in London.

It came eight years after Ms Waddingham split from her Italian businessman partner of more than ten years, Gianluca Cugnetto, who is the father of her only daughter, Kitty, 12.

The former Game Of Thrones star told Women's Health: 'I didn't really have the space mentally or emotionally for that. I've hunkered down and focused on my girl and me.

'[But] now I'm ready to stick my head above the parapet a bit more... and it's really lovely too, obviously, my relationship. But the best thing about it is being happy and strong in myself.'

The British stage and TV star rose to prominence after being cast in Apple TV+ hit show Ted Lasso as Rebecca Welton, the owner of struggling English football club AFC Richmond.
