Shia LaBeouf is no stranger to the spotlight. The actor found success on TV in the early 2000s for his role in Even Stevens before transitioning to the silver screen. However, the Transformers star's career has been embroiled in controversy, including an arrest in February 2026.

Authorities reportedly arrested LaBeouf on February 17 for his alleged participation in a brawl in New Orleans during Mardi Gras celebrations. Eyewitnesses claim the Holes actor was escorted out of a bar in the area before getting into an altercation with another individual. He reportedly walked away from the scene and received medical treatment from responding paramedics.

Local police arrested LaBeouf shortly after, and court records reveal he faces two counts of simple battery. The actor could face up to a year behind bars if convicted.

The incident in February is just the actor's latest run-in with the law. Per The Guardian, FKA Twigs sued LaBeouf in 2020 for sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional stress.

According to the BBC, the former couple settled in July 2025. Their lawyers reportedly released a joint statement saying that details would "remain private." The outlet cites court documents revealing that FKA Twigs, whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett, asked the court to dismiss all claims with prejudice. This means she cannot refile the claims in the future.

The Disturbia star had multiple run-ins with the law prior to the 2020 lawsuit. Per the LA Times, LaBeouf was arrested in Los Angeles during the Pandemic. Authorities charged him with one count of misdemeanor battery and one count of misdemeanor theft after a verbal altercation became physical.

The LA Times also notes that LaBeouf was arrested twice in 2017. Police first apprehended the Fury actor in February on suspicion of misdemeanor assault outside a museum. Police said the actor pulled a man's scarf and scratched his face, but charges were ultimately dropped due to a lack of evidence.

Later that year, officers arrested the actor again for obstruction, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness. Per the LA Times, the Eagle Eye star went into rehab shortly after the July incident. He then publicly thanked the officer who arrested him during an awards show.

Just two years prior, in 2015, LaBeouf was arrested at the City Limits music festival in Austin for misdemeanor public intoxication. In 2014, he reportedly disrupted a cabaret performance while drunk. The outlet reports that the actor pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.
