Infinity Nikki - How To Complete Forced Perspective: Capturing The Thief Quest

1 week ago 9

There are tons of random quests in Infinity Nikki and the "Forced Perspective" quests are some of the trickiest; in "Forced Perspective: Capturing the Thief," you'll need to find the right angle to put a dastardly villain behind bars. Using Momo's camera, you'll need to find the right angle to complete an optical illusion. Unfortunately, the game's detection isn't as good as it could be, making completing the quest harder than it sounds.

Forced Perspective quests are also a part of Infinity Nikki's Companion's Day event. This event celebrates all the fuzzy friends found around Florawish, and has a few different activities for Nikki to complete. "Capturing the Thief" is the second of the "Forced Perspective" quests, so you should know the basics of the quest type once you unlock it.

How To Unlock & Complete Forced Perspective: Capturing The Thief

Complete "Caged Bird," Then Find Toran

Before you can complete "Capturing the Thief," you'll need to complete "Forced Perspective: Caged Bird," which is the first of the "Forced Perspective" quests in Infinity Nikki. This quest is part of the Companion's Day event, and is a bit of a walkthrough of the mechanics of the "Forced Perspective" quests so that players know what to expect from the ones that follow.

"Forced Perspective" quests work similarly to the "Photo Investigation" quests, although there are a few key differences that make the former a bit more complex.

Once you finish "Caged Bird," find Toran near to the Kingdom Guard's Office. He'll mention that he's having trouble with a quest, then ask Nikki for help. He'll explain that he needs to find a way to put a criminal behind bars around the Guard's Office, but can't quite figure out how. Then, it's up to Nikki and Momo to help Toran solve the puzzle.

To complete Toran's request, you'll need to find the Thief Warrant Poster on the eastern side of the building. Stand in front of the poster with the fence between Nikki and the building, and then open your camera. Take a snapshot so that it looks like the poster is in jail to complete the request.

Wait until you see the golden camera reticle appear in the photo to take the picture, as this will ensure that the picture will count.

If you're struggling to get the reticle to appear, try using an f/16 Aperture and turning off Nikki, NPCs, and Eureka effects in the camera settings to get the clearest shot possible. I had to redo the photo several times before the reticle appeared, and I'm not sure what eventually made it work. If all else fails, try setting the time on your Run, Pear Pal to 10:00, as this is what finally worked for me.

Once you've gotten the shot you need, return to Toram and show him the photo you took. He'll exclaim how good of a job you've done and give you some rewards for your troubles:

The "Forced Perspective" quests aren't the most complicated in Infinity Nikki, but they can be some of the most annoying when the camera doesn't work properly. Take your time and reposition Nikki a few times, and you'll achieve the perfect shot eventually. Once you're done with this quest, there are tons of new quests to explore and even more content coming in future updates.
