Incredibles 3 is speeding into theaters.

On their official X account, Pixar has announced that Incredibles 3 will debut in theaters on June 16, 2028. This date comes exactly ten years and one day after the premiere of Incredibles 2, which had its wide debut on June 15, 2018. Below, see the image that was attached to the announcement, which features the movie's official logo:

Not many other movies have been added to the 2028 schedule so far ahead, but Incredibles 3 will be directly competing with one of them. The upcoming Pixar movie will be debuting two weekends before DC's animated movie Dynamic Duo, which follows the origin story of two of Batman's Robins (Dick Grayson and Jason Todd) and is currently scheduled to debut on June 30.

With this announcement, summer 2028 is gaining more of a shape. Disney has also recently slated the live-action Lilo & Stitch 2 to kick off the season on Memorial Day that year, but other titles set to premiere between May and August 2028 include the untitled legacy sequel The Mummy 4 (May 19) and an animated Hello Kitty movie (July 21).

Incredibles 3 is now the second installment in the franchise to have a summer debut. Incredibles 2 shifted from the holiday season to the summer season after the original installment debuted on November 5, 2004.

This seems to have worked in the sequel's favor (on top of the second installment having brand recognition that the original didn't), as it had a bigger opening weekend ($182.7 million compared to The Incredibles' $70.5 million) and a much bigger global haul ($1.243 billion compared to the original's $631.4 million).

If Incredibles 3 follows in the footsteps of the previous summer blockbuster in the franchise, it could very well add another billion-dollar success to Pixar's roster. If it has a similar worldwide gross to Incredibles 2 (which is currently Pixar's second highest-grossing title, though it could soon be surpassed by 2026's Toy Story 5), it will land itself a spot among the company's Top 5 movies of all time.
