The first couple shared a rare moment of PDA on Inauguration Day 2025 as Trump entered the Rotunda at the United States Capitol to be sworn in as the 47th president of the United States.
The 78-year-old was greeted by cheers as he and Melania leaned into one another so that he could give her a kiss on her left cheek, though it appeared as though his lips never physically touched her cheek.
Melania—wearing a navy coat by American designer Adam Lippes and matching hat by Eric Javits—was seated next to their son Barron Trump. The 18-year-old—who is reportedly 6-foot-7—wore a black suit, blue tie and slicked back hair for his rare public appearance.
Melania recently shared some insight into where she will be spending her time during her husband's presidency, revealing that she plans on living between multiple cities.
"I will be in the White House," she said on Fox & Friends Jan. 13. "When I need to be in New York, I will be in New York. When I need to be in Palm Beach, I will be in Palm Beach."
The 54-year-old added that her "first priority is to be a mom, to be a First Lady, to be a wife" and explained that Barron will visit D.C. during his time studying at New York University.

“I feel that children, we have them feel they are 18, 19 years old," Melania explained. "We teach them, we guide them. And then we give them the wings to fly. And I always respect Barron's yes and no and what he likes to do, where he would like to be."
The first lady continued to explain that enrolling at NYU was entirely his choice.
"It was his decision to come here," she said, "that he wants to be in New York and study in New York and live in his home, and I respect that."
