The Traitorsseason 3 is here and I can’t believe how much I’m loving the season because of some incredible new twists, especially after being nervous about how the show would pan out this year. In the months ahead of The Traitors season 3’s premiere, I was wracking my brain trying to figure out how the show would improve upon its impressive sophomore season. While I enjoyed The Traitors season 2 more than its first season, I wasn’t sure how things could get better after seeing some of my reality TV favorites like Big Brother’s Dan Gheesling in the castle.
While I was thrilled when The Traitors season 3’s cast was revealed, I was nervous about the way the gameplay was impacted last season by the obvious tension between reality TV gamers and stars of unstructured reality shows. With lines drawn between competitors like RHOA’s Phaedra Parks and BB’s Janelle Pierzina because of the style of shows they appeared on, it felt concerning that continuing to have an all reality TV star cast could be tough. While I’ve been hopeful that the competitors were in it for the sanctity of the game, I’ve still been nervous to see the outcome.
I Was Nervous About The Traitors Season 3 Feeling Repetitive
The Gameplay Can Get Stale On The Show
Although The Traitors season 3 is something I’ve been looking forward to, I was nervous about the show becoming repetitive after another season or reality TV stars going head-to-head. While I know The TraItors season 2 was its own entity, I’ve been wondering how much different the game can get with the same parameters in place throughout the season. Despite knowing that The Traitors season 3 would feature all-new drama and twists, I’ve been concerned that the show would feel stale in its next iteration. Even with The Traitors season 2 having had its twists and turns, I wasn’t certain.

I Didn’t Like The Boston Rob Twist

After seeing the clip of The Traitors season 3’s first moments, I was even more concerned about the show moving into its next season. With such a high-caliber cast, I expected some major drama, but seeing host Alan Cumming pose the first question to the cast, I felt like things were only going to get worse. Seeing the cast have the choice to push Boston Rob Mariano out of the game without even having the chance to play, I was concerned that the season was going to be a series of faux-power moves that didn’t lend to an exciting game.
The Traitors Brought In Two Of The Most Incredible Reality TV Gamers In A New Twist
After the first episode of The Traitors season 3 revealed that the rejected Boston Rob would be re-entering the game whether the rest of the cast wanted him or not, it was also revealed that two other legendary reality TV personalities would be joining the game in a shocking twist. With the reveal coming during the second episode of the season, The Traitors season 3 welcomed two more reality TV gamers in The Challenge legend Wes Bergmann and Big Brother winner Derrick Levasseur. With the players being hidden, it was fascinating to see them navigate their entry to the game.

Derrick, the winner of Big Brother 16, is known largely as one of the best BB players of all time, while Wes has become one of the most iconically diabolical Challenge cast members in the show’s 40-season history. Wes, who’s played with both of The Traitors season 2’s winners C.T. Tamburello and Trishelle Cannatella, is a noted huge fan of the strategy game and seemed like he has a handle on what’s happening in the castle right away.
I Can't Wait To See More Of The Traitors Season 3
The Next Episode Can’t Come Soon Enough
After Boston Rob, Wes, and Derrick’s entrances into the game, things began to move much more quickly on The Traitors season 3, and I can’t believe how much different it already feels from past seasons. With exciting new twists for the cast members and challenges that seem to be adding an element of suspense into the game, it appears that The Traitors will be addressing any issues of staleness or repetitiveness head-on in its initial episodes. With the Traitors themselves assembling in the third episode to develop a hit list and nearly being caught several times, the tension is high.
While I was nervous initially for the show to be repetitive and unexciting in its third season, I can’t wait to see new episodes of the series. Though I thought seeing Big Brother’s Dan get the opportunity to be a Traitor would be the best it could possibly get for me as a viewer, knowing that his fellow BB legend Danielle Reyes, Boston Rob, and a group of reality TV gamers are taking on the challenge with strength and tenacity is exciting. I’m ready to see Peacock’sThe Traitors season 3 get into brand-new territory as the season continues.
