The second part of Hytale‘s pre-release patch 3 has been announced, and there are plenty of new features, including mod support, cosmetics, and more.

Part of a three-patch series, the second part appears to be pretty extensive. It’s now available in the pre-release branch, and you can enable it using the launcher. Let’s look at all the major changes that are part of this patch.

Part 2 of patch 3 features plenty of cosmetic features, gameplay elements, mod support, and more. Here’s a list of all the headline features.

  • Edit and save up to 10 Avatar presets
  • New fire spread system and Goblin Flamethrower
  • Added sleep notifications
  • Two additional eye shapes
  • Two makeup variations (Blush and Eyeliner)
  • Five new haircut styles.
  • Four facial hair styles
  • Two new skirt designs (Plaid and Punk)
  • Shaped sneakers
  • New Black and Red Iron color variation for metals
  • Atomic file saving
  • Updated backup handling

Let’s now take a look at all the new content features that we can expect to find in Hytale‘s pre-release version.

  • New lime block variants
  • Complex spawn locations in Taiga near the rivers
  • Improved weather effects for Zone 1
  • Added tier II furnace
  • New model, textures, and animations
  • New visuals for tier I furnaces
  • Improved Fluid, Mounts, and Crafting systems
  • Improved modules for Teleporter, NPC reputation, NPC objectives, Memories, and more
  • Optimized client asset sizes
  • Improved accuracy and optimization for ranged weapon aiming ballistics
  • New encounters and environments featuring Zone 3 Trork, Zone 4 Village and Forest, and Zone 4 non-Forest and non-Swamp biomes

The latest patch also introduces plenty of modding support.

  • Added mod enable and disable support from UserData/Saves//mods
  • Added server version checks for plugins and asset packs
  • Added 3D audio source visualization for debugging
  • Added NPC sensor and view debugging visualization
  • Newly created asset packs are now enabled by default
  • Added a parameter to toggle replacing empty block materials
  • Added an option to skip mod validation in single player
  • Mod validation issues now block server startup unless flagged
  • MapEditor and ListEditor now use the correct models
  • Added Test NPC for showcasing multi-interaction setups
