Halle Berry Confirms Engagement to Van Hunt After Nearly 6 Years of Dating
Jena Malone has volunteered for a lifetime of love.
The Hunger Games alum announced she is engaged to fellow actor Jack Buckley, who she described as “a dream come true.”
“My soulmate asked me to marry him,” Jena wrote in a joint Instagram post Feb. 11 alongside pictures from the proposal. She also noted that Jack got the blessing from her two moms, sister and son Ode Mountain DeLorenzo Malone, 9, who she shares with ex Ethan DeLorenzo, adding, “With every lifetime, every moment I have in front of me I said yes.”
The 41-year-old addressed Jack directly, writing, “I love you forever!!!”
The Pride & Prejudice actress also included an original poem with her announcement, which referenced the patience she kept while waiting for that “forever” with Jack.
“It was always you / Even in those long, dark spaces of my youth,” she shared. “Where I learned to hold my own heart / You were always there / Breathing life into these tiny glimmers of a child’s heart….Love…..Soulmate……Marriage.”
In addition to finding her person in Jack, Jena has also been open about her journey to discovering her sexuality. So, when she came out as pansexual in 2022, she explained why it “felt so nice” to embrace her true identity.
“The sexual journey is so beautiful,” she told The Hollywood Reporter at the time. “I’ve been loving the process of learning more about myself and others through different terms that open windows, those windows then turns into doors and then I arrive at a place to find all this cool stuff out there.”

Plus, Jena, who said her “sister is queer and I grew up with two moms,” is grateful to be surrounded by such a strong team.
“I have a really supportive family and they’ve been that way for whatever, however or whoever I am or what I bring to the table,” she continued. “It’s all exciting and wonderful and perfectly great.”

The Oscar winner revealed she recently got engaged to her longtime boyfriend during a February appearance on The Tonight Show.
“There’s some confusion,” she said. “It's going around that I, that my guy Van Hunt—I've been dating him now for almost six years—well, there's some confusion that he asked to marry me and I said no.”
However, “I did not say no,” Halle affirmed. “We just don't have a date, but of course I said yes, I would marry him!”
