Adult Swim is expanding its animated slate with “My Two Cars,” a new quarter-hour comedy from co-creators Dan Licata (“Saturday Night Live,” “Teenage Euthanasia”) and Joe Pera (“Joe Pera Talks With You”). Produced by Green Street Pictures (“Common Side Effects,” “Scavengers Reign”), the series follows Keith Asshole, an Ohioan facing the absurdly epic daily dilemma of choosing which of his two beloved cars to drive. Licata will voice Keth.
“It’s a simple premise with good characters and great cars,” said Licata and Pera. “We appreciate Adult Swim allowing us to see such a dumb idea through into an entire season.”
Michael Ouweleen, president of Adult Swim, added, “Few shows (and fewer showrunners) are courageous enough to explore life’s biggest questions, but Dan and Joe confront head-on the perplexity of which car to drive today.”
“My Two Cars” marks Pera’s second series on Adult Swim and Licata’s return to the network after contributing to Pera’s prior series. Green Street Pictures handles animation for the new series, which continues the studio’s track record of Emmy and Annie-nominated work.
