As the full season of the series moves ahead with production, the new Prison Break has officially recast a major character.

Development on a new adaptation of the hit crime thriller began in late 2023, with Mayans M.C. alum Elgin James writing and showrunning the new series, which will not follow the original characters. The show, which got a series order in October 2025, has already built a star-studded cast for its new story, with everyone from American Gods' Emily Browning to Smile 2's Lukas Gage and Mayans M.C.'s JR Bourne leading, while guest stars are set to include Justified's Margo Martindale and The Conjuring's Lili Taylor, among others.

As first reported by Deadline, Hulu has added Animal Kingdom alum Kelli Berglund to the cast of its new Prison Break installment in a series regular role. The star is set to play Cheyenne, a female inmate at the prison that the new show is being set in, described as "one of the deadliest prisons in America." This marks a recasting of the role as Priscilla Delgado played the character in the pilot for the new show.
