The flare stack tower puzzle in Silent Hill: Townfall starts with a blaring alarm in a gloomy four-level ruin. Switching it off is only one of many steps, though; you must also find a controller key, enter the correct codes, and fix the valves to successfully complete the mission aptly named "Fix This."
Here's where to find the controller key and how to rotate the valves in Silent Hill: Townfall.
Where to find the flare stack controller key in Silent Hill: Townfall
At the start of the "Fix This" mission at the CEG HQ, Simon gets stuck in a multi-level area with a flare stack tower at the center. First, collect the "clamp release" file from the table opposite the elevator. Next, take the elevator to the second floor, where you'll find a controller key in the small box next to the valve two.
How to turn off the alarm and release the clamps in Silent Hill: Townfall
Return to the ground floor and use the controller key on valve one. To turn off the alarm, you must find the correct code on the "clamp release" file you obtained earlier.
The alarm identifier on the screen is 77289, which means the corresponding code is A5D7. Insert that code on the machine and press "OK."
Unfortunately, you still can't turn the handwheels. Interact with the flare stack's command console on the right side of the wheel (we're still at valve one), and use the code at the top of the "clamp release" file: E3E3.
How to solve the valve puzzle in Silent Hill: Townfall
See the red pipe circling the flare stack tower? Now that you've released the clamps, you can use the handwheels to rotate the flare stack tower on each of the four floor levels so that the red pipe is fully connected, top to bottom.
On the first floor (ground floor), turn valve one two times to the right, until you see an S-shaped piece of red pipe before you. On the second floor, turn valve two once to the left, so there's no red pipe directly in front of you.
On the third floor, turn valve three two times to the right. You should see a horizontal piece of pipe in the middle, and another in the top left. To fix valve four, rotate twice to the right again. You'll see an L-shaped pipe on the flare stack tower.
Return to the ground floor and interact with the flare stack console command again. This time, press the "gas flow," "flow test," and "ignite" buttons, which will complete the flare stack puzzle in Silent Hill: Townfall. To leave the area and complete the "Fix This" mission, crawl through the pipes that have appeared in the far left corner following the explosion.
