1 week ago 4

It might be freezing in parts of the US, but in Marvel Rivals, it's springtime. The hero shooter starts its first event of the year on Thursday, bringing new skins and a new mode.

Marvel Rivals' Spring Festival kicked off with the addition of three new skins, as well as the new Clash of the Dancing Lions limited-time mode. Developer NetEase Games also released a new patch for the game that includes dozens of fixes.

Here's what you should know about the Marvel Rivals Spring Festival.

When does the Spring Festival start?

The event started on Thursday, Jan. 23, at 4 a.m. ET (1 a.m. PT).

What skins can I get during the Spring Festival?

There are three new skins available during the event: Star-Lord's Lion's Mane, Black Widow's Lion's Heartbeat and Iron Fist's Lion's Gaze. Only Star-Lord's skin will be available for free to those who participate in the event and complete challenges. Black Widow's and Iron Fist's skins will be available at the in-game store to purchase. The two will also be bundled together in the Dancing Lions bundle and come with a "Blessing Lion" nameplate.

What else is coming in the Spring Festival?

A new mode called Clash of the Dancing Lions will be available only during the event. The 3-on-3 mode plays similar to soccer and will feature Iron Fist, Star-Lord and Black Widow playing in Wakanda's World Arena.

How can I get more Marvel Rivals skins for free?

There are different ways to get skins in Marvel Rivals. Sometimes the developer issues special codes to unlock them, while others require completing challenges. There are also some made available by watching streams on Twitch and many skins are "free" for progressing through the Marvel Rivals Battle Pass, which costs 990 Lattice, or approximately $10.

What are some Marvel Rivals skins available now for free?

There are currently 10 free skins available. Here's how you get them:
