How to fix the Legacy of the Vrykul bug in World of Warcraft

If you’ve been trying to complete the Legacy of the Vrykul quest in World of Warcraft and failing to do so, then you’re not alone.

A bug has reportedly been witnessed by several players, which is preventing them from completing the mission progress and earning all the available rewards. This bug seems to have appeared from the client side, which makes it really difficult for the players to do much. Thankfully, a potential solution is currently available that will let you complete your mission progress.

What is the Legacy of the Vrykul bug in World of Warcraft

The Legacy of the Vrykul is available as a weekly world quest that can be completed to unlock the fresh new special assignment/storm phase that is available on Siren Isle as part of the latest World of Warcraft update. While you can complete it as usual, the problem lies in how the progress is being tracked. After completing the quest, it will show up as 100% completed, but the quest will be stuck. In simpler words, you won’t be able to enter the storm phase or special assignment in Siren Isle.

As reported by a few players on the official forum, restarting the game doesn’t make any changes to the quest progress. The tracker remains stuck on 100%, but they can’t play the storm phase or complete the special assignment.

It’s pretty obvious that a bug in the client is the main problem. A permanent solution has to come from the developers as part of an update patch, and that should fix any issue you might be having with the weekly world quest. Here’s a temporary fix you can try (as posted on the forum by Meattoem).

  • Take the mole machine out of the Siren Isle
  • Log out of your game.
  • Lob back in and re-enter Siren Isle.

If it works, you should be able to progress and participate in the storm phase/special assignment. That said, this workaround might not work for you, and it’s better to wait for an update from Blizzard if that’s the case.
