The Most Epic Surprises From Taylor Swift's Eras Tour

For her whole Eras Tour, Taylor Swift’s fans stayed in that lavender haze.

Over two years and 149 enchanting shows, the “Cruel Summer” singer’s international tour sold a whopping total of $2,077,618,725 in ticket sales—not including sales from the highly-coveted merchandise or online ticket resellers. And after exceeding $2 billion, the cultural phenomenon made history with double the gross ticket sales of any other concert tour, per The New York Times.

Taylor marked the end of an era at her final show in Vancouver on Dec. 8, cherishing the moment with an emotional look back at the past two years.

"We have toured the entire world with this tour, we have had so many adventures,” the 34-year-old said at the sold-out show at BC Place stadium, “ it has been the most exciting, powerful, electrifying, intense, most challenging thing I’ve ever done in my entire life."

Indeed, Taylor revealed the astonishing number of fans she had the pleasure of interacting with over the course of the 22-month tour.

"We’ve got to perform for over 10 million people,” she continued, “and tonight we get to play one last show for you here tonight."

And along with the millions of fans that got to experience the magic of crying to “Marjorie” and trading friendship bracelets with a stadium full of other Swifties, some of today’s biggest celebs knew all too well that they couldn’t miss seeing the show themselves.

From the pop superstar’s boyfriend and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce to her bestie Blake Livelyand her husband Ryan Reynolds, Taylor brought many stars to the stands. Even some unexpected ones, including tennis star Serena Williams, High School Musical alum Ashley Tisdale and Prince William along with his and Kate Middleton’s kids Princess Charlotte and Prince George.

But the Deadpool & Wolverine actor was especially honored to be there—and he didn’t hesitate to gush over Taylor’s ability to put on a fabulous show.

“When I’m 95 yrs old and my wife and kids wheel me outside and into the sun so I can drink a sandwich,” Ryan wrote on Instagram after attending a show in October, “I’ll still be talking about seeing this show in New Orleans.”

The 48-year-old—who shares kids James, 9, Inez, 8, Betty, 4, and Olin, 22 months, with the It Ends With Us actress—even applauded the positive impact Taylor’s tour had on local economies along with the hearts of her many fans.

“Not just because it’s one of the best things I’ve seen/heard/felt. And not only because you see the staggering and positive economic impact this tour has on small businesses all over NOLA — a town that’s been thru so much for so long,” he continued. “The main reason I’ll never forget this show is because it brings people together in so many ways. And in 2024, (where that feeling is scarce as hell) it’s a special and incredibly rare thing.”
