Hailey Bieber Reveals How She and Justin Bieber Share Responsibilities of Son Jack
Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber have been busy defending their marriage in the best possible way.
They just keep staying married.
With their eighth wedding anniversary on the horizon in September, Justin and Hailey have become the poster couple for what it means to grow together, defying the odds for super-famous young couples and proving the skeptics who assumed they wouldn't last quite wrong.
Not that there was no reason to wonder if the lovebirds hadn't rushed into holy matrimony, Hailey telling Vogue in 2019, "The thing is, marriage is very hard. That is the sentence you should lead with. It’s really effing hard.”
The moral of this story is, yes, it can be hard, but the rhode founder and her Grammy-winning husband rolled up their sleeves and have been putting in the work.
And as Justin turns 32 on March 1, having been in the spotlight for more than half his life, being a good partner and father—to their 18-month-old son Jack Blues Bieber—remains his north star.
“Having a great partner is really important,” Hailey said Feb. 13 at Vogue’s Forces of Fashion event in Australia, “and sharing responsibilities. I’m here working and my son is at home with his dad living his best life."
As is Jack's dad, who traveled a long road to get to this place.

"I'm committed to getting better and committed to doing whatever I have to do, whether it's inconvenient or not, because I know ultimately it's not only for me," the Ontario native, who's been candid about past drug use and mental health struggles, said in 2020's Justin Bieber: Sessions. "Being the best me is gonna help me be the best husband, the best father, the best friend that I can possibly be."
Meanwhile, Hailey had told Vogue in 2019 that they were going to counseling and "fighting to do this the right way, to build a healthy relationship."
"I'm not going to sit here and lie and say it's all a magical fantasy," the now-29-year-old said. "It's always going to be hard. It's a choice...But there's something beautiful about it anyway—about wanting to fight for something, commit to building with someone."
And their retrofitted foundation would soon come in handy.
"I just think life is changing all the time," Hailey told Harper's Bazaar in July 2022, several months after undergoing a procedure to repair a hole in her heart, which doctors discovered while treating her for a blood clot in her brain that caused stroke-like symptoms. "Day to day, week to week, year to year. I think a perfect example of that is over the last six months, both of us have gone through very serious health issues."
Justin had come down with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, which left him with temporary partial facial paralysis. He was previously diagnosed with Lyme disease and Epstein-barr in 2019.
"You have to figure out how to deal with this s--t as it comes, you know?" Hailey continued. "There's a reason they say 'for better or for worse.' Like, that's for real!"
But as she later noted on Good Morning America, the "silver lining" of such challenges "is that it brings us a lot closer, 'cause you're going through this together, you're being there for each other, you're supporting each other and there's just something that really bonds you through these times."
Still, Hailey understood why her marriage to Justin was initially mistaken for a lark.
The model acknowledged on a 2022 episode of Call Her Daddy that "the timing was obviously very rapid and very fast" when it came to going from we're-a-couple-again in May 2018 (two years after they first dated) to getting engaged in July and married two months later.

"I'm like, 'Yeah, that seemed really drastic and really crazy,'" Hailey noted. "But that was what we felt was a decision between the two of us and it felt correct for the two of us at the time and clearly we were right because here we are four years later."
In early 2023, Hailey told her husband during a sit-down for Vogue Australia, "My favorite thing about being married is honestly the companionship I feel we have. Genuinely, you are my best friend in the entire world. There's nobody I would rather spend more time with or do anything with."
But none of that prevented further speculation that the spouses were in the process of splitting up.

The rumor mill kicked into high gear in February 2024 after Hailey's dad, Stephen Baldwin, reposted a pastor's Instagram Reel soliciting prayers for his daughter and son-in-law, the reason for which he has never explained.
"Just FYI the stories and constant 'blind items' I see on Tik Tok are 100% of the time wrong," Hailey wrote on her Instagram Stories days later. "Made out of thin air…Come from the land of delusion…So I know it may be fun feeding into these stories but just know they're always false. xx sorry to spoil it."
In May, the couple shared that Hailey was pregnant, and Jack was born on Aug. 22, 2024. Though, naturally, spending precious time at home with their son resulted in more rumors of trouble behind closed doors.
"Being postpartum is the most sensitive time I’ve ever gone through in my life, and learning a new version of myself is very difficult,” Hailey told Vogue last March. “And to be doing that all the while going on the internet every day and people being like, They’re getting divorced and They’re this and They’re not happy: It is such a mindf--k."
In reality, Hailey was finalizing the sale of rhode to e.l.f. Beauty in a deal worth $1 billion, and Justin was busy putting the finishing touches on his seventh and eighth studio albums, as well as making other positive changes in his life. A rep for the singer told TMZ in February 2025 that the last 12 months had been "very transformative," as he "ended several close friendships and business relationships that no longer served him."

His subsequent albums Swag and Swag II revealed the fruits of his creative labor, songs such as "Daisies," "Dadz Love," "Better Man" and "I Do" awash with allusions to romance, marriage, fatherhood and his commitment to all of it.
As Hailey put it to Vogue last year, "I have a real life. My real life is that I get to wake up to my beautiful family and my son and my friends and I have people that know me and love me and I love them.”
And from the look on her face during Justin's stripped-down performance of "Yukon" at the Grammys Feb. 1, the fight to do marriage the right way was definitely worth it.
