The release of Amphoreus in Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 will represent a massive update for players of HoYoverse’s turn-based RPG as the new destination brings not only extra maps to explore but new characters and a unique story arc that should be visited throughout the upcoming year of content. Amphoreus is the next destination arriving in Version 3.0 and should represent the fifth major location that the Astral Express crew visits on their adventure through the cosmos. In their journeys, players are expected to meet several Amphoreus characters in Honkai: Star Rail, who should contribute to the campaign’s development.

So far, little is actually known about Amphoreus from official sources, as HoYoverse has only slightly teased the characters and given a minor glimpse into the upcoming destination. However, the beta tests for Version 3.0 have already started. A lot of the focus of the leaks from the beta tests lies on the gameplay kits for the three new characters (Aglaea, The Herta, and Remembrance Trailblazer), but there have been extra rumors that provide details about Amphoreus. This includes, for example, the number of treasures in Honkai: Star Rail’s Amphoreus maps, which hint at their massive sizes.

Amphoreus’ Story In Honkai: Star Rail

The Eternal Land Lies In Mystery

Honkai Star Rail's Amphoreus is full of warriors.

The story of Amphoreus is a mysterious one, as the destination is described as a location that has not had much contact with other civilizations. Also known as The Eternal Land, Amphoreus is described by the memokeeper Black Swan as a world that Akivili, the Trailblaze, has never reached. In fact, the world is obscured for most and can only be observed from the Garden of Recollection. Unlike the previous worlds in the game, each of which has had a Path alignment, Amphoreus is connected to three different Paths in Honkai: Star Rail instead of a single one.

Honkai Star Rail 3.0 Leaks: The Herta's Buffs May Make Her A One Of A Kind Erudition Character

A new update to The Herta’s leaked gameplay kit in Honkai: Star Rail indicates that she will be an exceptional character on the Path of the Erudition.

Before Amphoreus, the gods created Coreflames, which gave birth to the Titans that carved the world. The Titans were responsible for different aspects of creation and then humanity was born. After an era of prosperity, Amphoreus plunged into a war between Titans and humans and, ultimately, the era of gods ended, with a prophecy dictating that the Chrysos Heirs would inherit the Coreflames from the Titans. Because of the Astral Express’ lack of fuel to reach Lushaka or Melustanin, the Nameless were persuaded by Black Swan in Honkai: Star Rail to go to Amphoreus.

Though the details of the upcoming story arc are unknown, the Nameless should entangle themselves with the efforts of the Chrysos Heirs, which are prophesied to bring a new era of prosperity to humanity in Amphoreus.

Amphoreus Characters In Honkai: Star Rail

Chrysos Heirs Will Be Playable

Most of the Amphoreus characters that have been presented so far are the aforementioned Chrysos Heirs: Aglaea, Tribbie, Anaxagoras, Hyacine, Mydeimos, Cifera, Castorice, and Phainon. As was indicated by the teaser trailer, each of these characters is set to pluck a Coreflame from a Titan and claim newfound powers that will help them rebuild Amphoreus. A leak shared by Seele on Reddit, for instance, states that Mydeimos will be responsible for the Coreflame of Strife. Another unconfirmed but leaked character called Chrysdira, according to Seele on Reddit, will have the Coreflame of Laws in Honkai: Star Rail’s Amphoreus world.

While they are set to be the leaders of this new Amphoreus, a leak by Ubatcha (also shared on Reddit) mentions that the Chrysos Heirs are all imperfect beings, each with their own flaw. As an example, the leaker states that Aglaea cannot see and that Mydei cannot die, while Castorice kills anything she touches. The exception to the rule, according to the leak, is Phainon, who is allegedly considered a perfect vessel to the Coreflame and does not have a flaw like his fellow Chrysos Heirs. Rumors mention that all Chrysos Heirs in Honkai: Star Rail are 5-star characters.

In addition to the Chrysos Heirs, HoYoverse has also teased some extra characters via silhouettes in the first Amphoreus trailer. One of these units is expected to be Chrysdira or Cerydra. Another mysterious character to appear is allegedly called Hysilens, even if it is unspecified whether or not they are a Chrysos Heir. Another character called Cyrene is also rumored to be from Amphoreus, though this remains to be confirmed. With most of the Chrysos Heirs rumored to be 5-star characters, it’s uncertain which units will compose the 4-star lineup for Honkai: Star Rail in Amphoreus.

Honkai Star Rail 3.0 Leaks: How Much Stellar Jade Is Available In The First Amphoreus Update

Based on the leaks for Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 so far, this is what you can expect in terms of free Stellar Jade during the next big update to the RPG.

Version 3.0 does not have a new 4-star Amphoreus character confirmed, so players may only see a new one in Version 3.1 and onward. Even so, there have not yet been hints regarding who these characters may be. With the release of Amphoreus and the progression of the main story missions, it should become clearer which characters will play an important part in the campaign and, subsequently, who will be released as a playable character, including 4-stars. 4-star units may not be Chrysos Heirs, specifically, but they may have an important role in the Amphoreus story in Honkai: Star Rail.

Amphoreus’ Map In Honkai: Star Rail

The Destination May Become The Largest In The Game

Honkai Star Rail's Amphoreus Characters seem to fall from the sky.

Based on the aforementioned leaks about the number of treasures, the first few Amphoreus maps should be massive in size. In total, the leak lists five different regions in Amphoreus, some of which have over 40 treasures to uncover. As was previously rumored and then confirmed by the Amphoreus trailers revealed so far, the upcoming destination seems heavily inspired by Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome. This matches the Greek mythology-inspired narrative, too. The leaks about Amphoreus in Honkai: Star Rail showcase some images of the locations, though some areas look a lot like Genshin Impact’s Fontaine region.

Honkai: Star Rail 3.0's Leaked Free Character Selector Is The Worst Gift In A While

Players may be able to claim a free character in Honkai: Star Rail 3.0, but the leaked selection of characters offered in the gift is terrible.

Even so, the Amphoreus shown in the first trailer hints at a very distinguishable location with unique elements that compose its architecture, design, and characters. Although five regions have leaked for Version 3.0, it’s likely that Amphoreus will continue to grow in size with more maps over the course of the next updates, as have all major destinations in the game so far.

If the following regions continue the rumored scale of the first maps, Amphoreus may become the largest region in the game, perhaps even surpassing Penacony in Honkai: Star Rail.

Involved in mystery and with very few details revealed through in-game lore and other official sources, Amphoreus is an exciting new destination that will have the difficult task of living up to its elusive yet gargantuan reputation, especially when it comes to the story set around the Coreflames and Black Swan’s nudge toward the world. More details about Amphoreus should arise the closer the game gets to Honkai: Star Rail 3.0’s release in mid-January 2025.
