This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.
All the details about Honkai: Star Rail 4.1 have been revealed by HoYoverse during the patch’s special livestream, including its release date, character banners, story updates, livestream codes, and much more. A few weeks ago, the developer kicked off a new year for the turn-based RPG with the release of Honkai: Star Rail 4.0, which took the Astral Express to the new destination of Planarcadia and introduced a new story arc to follow.
Moreover, the update also added the Elation as a playable Path in the game. For now, this is represented by both Sparxie and Yao Guang in Honkai: Star Rail, the only two Elation characters, though more are already confirmed for release in the future. Now, the next big update for the turn-based RPG has been formally presented by the developer, and it shouldn’t take too long for you to gain access to it.
Honkai: Star Rail 4.1 - Release Date
The New Update Shouldn’t Suffer Any Delays
It was unclear when the next update would arrive, seeing that the RPG had a regular schedule of releases on Wednesdays, every six weeks, and Version 4.0 was released on a Friday. However, now we know when the next update will arrive, as it was officially revealed following the Honkai: Star Rail 4.1 livestream. According to developer HoYoverse, Version 4.1 will arrive on March 25.
With the official announcement having been made, it’s unlikely that the update will suffer any delays. When there are internal complications that require a postponement, HoYoverse tends to make that announcement beforehand. This happened, for example, with the Honkai: Star Rail 4.0 delay, which was announced during the Version 3.8 livestream.
Honkai: Star Rail 4.1 - Livestream Codes
Get 300 Free Stellar Jade
Custom Image by Bruno YonezawaOne of the highlights during every special event of this kind is the reveal of livestream codes. When redeemed, these limited-time codes grant players in-game bonuses, which include Credits, Character EXP Materials, and more. However, its main usage for players, regardless of whether they are whales or F2P members, is to obtain free Stellar Jade in Honkai: Star Rail. In total, HoYoverse provided three different codes for redemption during the Version 4.1 livestream, each of which offers 100 Stellar Jade, meaning players can get up to 300 Stellar Jade for free.
The Version 4.1 livestream codes and their respective rewards are listed in the table below:

These livestream codes are limited, so you should redeem them before they expire on March 14 at 11:59 am ET. To do so, you can access the official Honkai: Star Rail website and, after logging in, insert the codes and redeem them. The other method is through the game itself, via the Redemption Code feature located in the top right corner of the main menu. Once redeemed, the rewards will be sent to your mailbox, from where they must be claimed.
Ashveil Will Be An Aggressive DPS & Debuffer
Custom Image: Bruno YonezawaRegarding new content, the livestream highlighted the new playable character, Ashveil, who had previously been confirmed via drip marketing posts on social media. Ashveil is a 5-star Lightning character who follows the Path of the Hunt. As such, he is expected to be the main DPS in team comps, but he does facilitate the damage output of the entire team. With his kit, Ashveil marks a single enemy as Bait, and when they are defeated, all enemies suffer a DEF shred.
He should continuously be spreading Bait and defeating enemies, so as to make the other ones weaker for the rest of the team to exploit. Ashveil should go well with Erudition characters like The Herta or Argenti in Honkai: Star Rail, who can take advantage of the DEF shred applied to the rest of the enemies. Furthermore, Ashveil contributes with powerful follow-up attacks, which establish him as the active DPS – or, at least, one of two.
During the Version 4.1 livestream, HoYoverse also highlighted the character banner structure for the patch, which will be shorter than usual. Instead of lasting six weeks, Version 4.1 will last for four weeks. This will affect the banner structure during the period. Ashveil will be part of both Phase 1 and Phase 2 banners, essentially making him obtainable throughout the entire update’s duration.
Honkai: Star Rail 4.1 - Story Updates & More
There Will Be Plenty To Do In The New Update
Custom Image: Bruno YonezawaEven though the update will be shorter than usual, there will still be a lot to do in Version 4.1. As was announced by HoYoverse during the livestream, the main campaign quests set in Planarcadia will continue the story initiated by Version 4.0. This means that the Trailblazer’s efforts to win the Phantasmoon Games will continue, as they meet new characters and see some familiar faces.
In addition to that, HoYoverse also revealed the events for Honkai: Star Rail 4.1. There will be fewer events in comparison to regular 6-week patches, but enough to keep you entertained until the arrival of Version 4.2. Furthermore, you’ll be able to obtain several free rewards for participating in these events, including more free Stellar Jade.
Overall, it seems like Version 4.1 is a setup for the larger and more important Version 4.2. It has already been confirmed that the next patch will introduce Silver Wolf Lvl. 999, Evanescia (the Yae Sakura proxy in Honkai: Star Rail), and the Elation Trailblazer. Additionally, Version X.2 patches are traditionally some of the largest every year.
Last year, during Version 3.2, HoYoverse released Castorice and Anaxa, arguably some of the strongest units from Amphoreus, while also significantly expanding the destination with new maps and important story quests for the year-long campaign. Honkai: Star Rail 4.1 drops soon, so be sure not to miss it.
