Home and Away star Isabel Lucas puts her 'treetop home' up for sale in Byron Bay as she cuts ties with Australia

Isabel Lucas is selling her Byron Bay property, as the US-based star further cuts her ties with Australia.

The  Home and Away actress, 41, has listed the secluded coastal property, which she bought for $857,500 in 2015 with help from her parents.

Now, after establishing a new life in America with her partner, filmmaker Cyrus Sutton, Lucas is ready to part ways with her Byron Bay base.

The property, known as Sea Eagle, is tucked away on a sprawling 1,080sqm block at the rear of the Oasis Resort community, close to Tallow Beach on the southern side of Byron Bay.

It comes with direct beach access through Arakwal National Park — and residents also have access to the resort's swimming pool and tennis court.

The home is being marketed by First National Byron Bay agents Sharon McInnes and Paul Prior as a potential permanent residence, holiday home or investment.

Inside, the three-level property offers two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with 120sqm of internal living space and an impressive 140sqm of outdoor space.

Described as a 'holistic home' and a 'private treetop escape', the retreat has a distinctly relaxed Byron Bay feel.

Lucas, who rose to fame playing Tasha Andrews on Home and Away between 2003 and 2006, later made the leap to Hollywood, appearing in films including Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in 2009.

She has continued to maintain strong ties to the Byron region, retaining a small hinterland acreage in nearby Federal, which she bought for $1.775 million in 2023.

But her life has increasingly shifted towards the US.

Lucas and Sutton are known for their wellness-focused lifestyle and environmental advocacy, with the couple now based largely in Washington State.

She welcomed their son Archer late last year, with her Instagram posts showing the family enjoying their time in Byron Bay.

The actress previously put the property on the market in 2022, only to withdraw it after two weeks.

This time, however, the listing comes after Lucas has spoken openly about building a new life in America.

'Having roots and settling down is important,' Lucas previously told Stellar.

But she also acknowledged that her plans could change.

'Plans can always change, but we're mostly based over there [America],' Lucas added.

'We're living on the land and setting up a retreat centre by the Columbia River,' she said of the couple's property in Skamania County, Washington.

'It will offer a variety of holistic health, beekeeping, homesteading skills and retreats.'

While Lucas has stepped back from the Hollywood spotlight, she has not completely closed the door on acting.

The former soap star said a return to the screen was 'about finding the right roles and projects'.

For now, it appears her Byron Bay retreat could be the latest chapter of her Australian life to go to a new owner.

Lucas developed a reputation for openly speaking out against Australia's strict lockdown policies during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

In September 2020, she went to great lengths to stay anonymous during a Zoom call with COVID conspiracy theorists and lockdown critics.

Covering her face with a black hoodie and mask and using the alias 'X', the anti-vaxxer told her co-panellists that she needed 'to be careful about being outspoken' because she was a famous Australian actress.

'I'm here, and I don't want to be anonymous, but I am about to start filming a film, and I do need to be careful about being outspoken because you can get dropped from charities, you can lose campaigns,' Isabel said.

'It has happened to me in recent times for speaking out. I feel careful, and I don't want to elicit any aggressive, threatening responses.'

Lucas said she felt '100 per cent called to shine a light on the reality of what's really going on' in reference to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown directives.
