Ewan is Deputy Editor for ScreenRant's gaming section. He still quite hasn’t gotten out of his mid 00’s emo phase, and knows more about The Legend of Zelda and Doctor Who than is probably healthy.
Ewan oversees the content operation of ScreenRant's gaming output, working with a talented team of writers and editors to cover everything from the latest GTA 6 news to the indie games you need on your radar.
Former Editor of GAMINGbible, Ewan also has words at Kotaku, Den of Geek, NME, and UNILAD. He's appeared on various podcasts, including VGC's and BBC's Let's Talk About Tech.

Fans of Hogwarts Legacy might want to sit down for this one. The sequel, Hogwarts Legacy 2 has now officially been confirmed. This follows job listings and a new hire that fueled speculation the sequel is on the horizon, alongside a pretty definitive statement from Warner Bros. that pointed to (but stopped short of confirming) a 2027 release window.
I grant you, this isn't the most exciting announcement in the world. In a new letter to shareholders, Warner Bros. Discovery has finally officially acknowledged the existence of the Harry Potter RPG sequel. This letter is a huge document taking in everything from its 150 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, and the recent success of Game Of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon. The letter and upcoming is designed to showcase the company's ability to "consistently deliver compelling, high-quality content that resonates with our increasingly global audience remains a key differentiator and foundational long-term value driver as consumption habits continue to evolve."
Of course, this letter eventually gets down to touching on the recent and future games from WB Games. The company has had recent wins with LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight and the mobile spinoff Game of Thrones: Dragonfire on mobile devices.
Here's what they had to say specifically about Hogwarts Legacy 2: "We expect Games to more meaningfully contribute to segment profitability going forward as our pipeline expands, including the second installment of Hogwarts Legacy."
Specifically naming Hogwarts Legacy 2 to investors is a pretty strong sign that we could get an announcement sooner rather than later. It's worth noting that Gamescom Opening Night Live takes place August 25, which could be the perfect place to unveil the game properly. Failing that, it's entirely possible we could see it as one of the major reveals for The Game Awards in December.
Even the 2027 release window is no longer that farfetched, although any official news to do with release windows and platforms will likely come when the game is properly announced with a trailer. For now, I would imagine Hogwarts Legacy 2 will be released for current-gen consoles rather than the PlayStation 6 and Xbox Project Helix, but we'll have to wait and see.
