It’s shaping up to be a big year for Henry Cavill, who is hard at work filming his new Highlander reboot from director Chad Stahelski. The film will see him reunite with Russell Crowe, with whom he previously worked on Man of Steel, the 2013 superhero movie that remains his most famous work to date. Cavill has also been tapped to reunite with director Guy Ritchie for a new action movie, In The Grey, which will be released in theaters on May 10. The film co-stars Jake Gyllenhaal and follows a group of high-level operatives who become entangled in a dangerous heist. Cavill is also the lead on a new Voltron adaptation that’s rumored to be released sometime this year. The film co-stars Paradise’s Sterling K. Brown along with Alba Baptista.
However, another exciting project in the works for Cavill is the third entry in his hit British detective saga, Enola Holmes. Cavill plays the famous Sherlock Holmes in the first two Netflix original films starring Millie Bobby Brown, and he’s been tapped to reprise the role once more in Enola Holmes 3, which has already wrapped production. Netflix has yet to assign the film a spot on the release calendar, but it will likely premiere before the end of the year. New reports indicate that Enola Holmes 3 will have a runtime of around 1:45, which is significantly less than the nearly 2:15 held by the first film. It’s the first Enola Holmes movie that will be less than two hours. While not officially confirmed, all signs point to Enola Holmes 3 being the final movie in the franchise.
Millie Bobby Brown Is Free From ‘Stranger Things'
Millie Bobby Brown will always be tied to her role in Netflix’s original sci-fi series, Stranger Things, which first premiered back in 2016. After five full seasons, the show has now concluded, but many fans are still unsatisfied with how the Duffer Brothers left things open-ended. Still, now that Stranger Things has concluded, this frees up Millie Bobby Brown to focus on other projects. It took over a year to film the final season of Stranger Things, and even longer to finish press and promotion, so Brown is surely relieved to have more time to work on other projects like Enola Holmes.
Stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of Enola Holmes 3 and watch the first two movies on Netflix.
