Guy Ritchie is one of the most formidable action directors in the world, dating back to his early work with Jason Statham and Brad Pitt on classic crime thrillers like Snatch. More recently, Ritchie took the scale to the next level with the WWII action thriller The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, which stars Henry Cavill and Alan Ritchson. He also directed one of Apple TV’s biggest sleeper hits, Fountain of Youth, which has been hailed as the perfect mash-up of Indiana Jones and Uncharted. Ritchie is even something of a TV savant thanks to his work on shows like The Gentlemen and MobLand, and he’ll return to the world of TV soon with Young Sherlock.

Ritchie’s next action movie, In The Grey, will be released in theaters on April 10. The film wrapped production years ago and was delayed several times, but now it’s finally ready for its official theatrical run. Henry Cavill stars alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Eiza Gonzalez in the film, which will follow a group of high-level operatives who go on a mission only they can complete. It’s one of the most intriguing new releases of the year thus far, but fans can rest assured knowing that Ritchie will bring the same thrills he always does.

On the final day of our Exclusive Preview Event here at Collider, which began last week with some new looks at some of the hottest up-and-coming TV shows, we’re thrilled to partner with Black Bear to exclusively preview a new image from In The Grey. The actioner also stars The Wheel of Time veteran Rosamund Pike alongside Jason Wong (The Covenant). The film's official synopsis reads:

"In The Grey follows a covert team of elite operatives who live in the global shadows, as comfortable wielding power and influence as they are automatic weapons and high explosives. When a ruthless despot steals a billion-dollar fortune, the team is sent to steal it back on what would be for anyone else a suicide mission. What begins as an impossible heist gets much worse, spiraling into an all-out war of strategy, deception and survival."

Guy Ritchie Is Reuniting With Jason Statham

In The Grey is one of several exciting projects in the works for director Guy Ritchie right now. He’s even attached to reunite with his long-time collaborator Jason Statham for a sequel to Daniel Craig’s Layer Cake, which recently added Harry Potter and White Lotus veteran Jason Isaacs to its cast. Ritchie is also hard at work on new seasons of MobLand and The Gentlemen, and it’s expected that Young Sherlock will receive another season from Prime Video before the dust settles. Ritchie also has another movie, Wife and Dog, coming out later this year on October 23. The film stars two-time Academy Award-winner Anthony Hopkins.

Check out the new image from In The Grey above and stay tuned for more from Collider’s Exclusive Preview event.
