After being quietly dropped by Lionsgate, Guy Ritchie's action movie starring Henry Cavill, In The Grey, now has an official release date.
In addition to Cavill, the star-studded cast features Jake Gyllenhaal, Eiza González, Kristofer Hivju, Fisher Stevens, and Rosamund Pike. The film, which is directed and written by Ritchie, revolves around a covert team of elite operatives hidden in the shadows. After a billion-dollar fortune is stolen by a ruthless tyrant, the team is given the mission to get the money back. This begins as a heist, but soon escalates into war and a battle for survival.
Black Bear picked up the distribution rights for In The Grey and scheduled it for January 17, 2025, before it was pulled from the release calendar. Now that Black Bear has its own distribution operation in the U.S., the film is back on the schedule and slated for an April 10, 2026 theatrical debut. Lionsgate is still partly involved with the movie, though, as the studio is responsible for the digital and pay-TV distribution.
Benjamin Kramer, president of U.S. distribution at Black Bear, released a statement about the studio's excitement at working with Ritchie, Lionsgate, and the cast led by Cavill, Gyllenhaal, and González. Read his statement below:

In the Grey features every ounce of his trademark style and wit, not to mention a hugely talented cast led by Jake, Henry, and Eiza. We look forward to continuing to work with them as we bring this great film to audiences.
In The Grey is not the only Guy Ritchie movie that is part of Black Bear's theatrical slate in 2026, as his thriller Wife and Dog is also being distributed through the studio. Earlier in January, it landed an October 23, 2026 release date. The story of a succession battle directed and written by Ritchie stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Rosamund Pike, Anthony Hopkins, Cosmo Jarvis, Paddy Considine, and James Norton.
