HBO's newest masterpiece series is A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which is now fully available to binge from start to finish for the first time ever. Consisting of just six episodes, AKOTSK is officially a must-watch weekend binge.
As the second Game of Thrones prequel series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms had a great deal of pressure and expectation ahead of its January 2026 premiere. Now that season 1 is complete after it finally airs on Sunday, February 22, it's safe to confirm that AKOTSK successfully revitalized the GoT franchise.
A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms Is HBO's New Masterpiece
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is one of the best new shows built for a one-night binge this weekend. Unlike Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, AKOTSK episodes are relatively brief, ranging from 31 to 42 minutes, and totaling just 3 hours and 30 minutes from start to finish. This makes it perfect to binge in just one sitting, especially if you've been waiting to start the series.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms earned a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score of 93% and a notably high IMDb score of 9.0, which would make it one of the best TV shows of all time if that rating lasts. Fans contend that the series has only gotten better with each new episode, resulting in a 9.7 IMDb score for its penultimate season 1 episode.
HBO has unsurprisingly renewed A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms for a second season, as Game of Thrones proves to continue to be one of its most successful flagship franchises, even after its divisive original series finale in 2019. The series follows Ser Duncan the Tall, played by Peter Claffey, and his sidekick Egg, played by Dexter Sol Ansell, taking place 100 years before Game of Thrones begins.
Binge All 6 Episodes Of AKOTSK In One Night This Weekend
Image via HBO MaxAs of Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 10 PM ET, HBO subscribers will be able to binge all six episodes of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms for the very first time. The series, which is currently the #1 trending HBO show worldwide, averages roughly 13 million viewers per episode and has seen steady growth since its mid-January premiere, suggesting the season 1 finale should be its most popular episode yet (via Variety).
Even if you are not all caught up on House of the Dragon or never got into Game of Thrones when it was the biggest show on television during the 2010s, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is still worth checking out this weekend. It could even be a great introduction to the storied franchise for newcomers who are curious to see what all the hype is about this weekend on HBO Max.
