- HBO Mas has just renewed Neighbors for a second season
- This comes off the back of a hugely successful first run
- The current series' finale is on March 20
HBO Max has just renewed Neighbors for a second season ahead of the documentary's finale on March 20.
Neighbors had a hugely successful first run, averaging over 2.9 million global cross-platform viewers per episode since its debut. I'm so excited it's coming back for more, as the A24 documentary series has been a wild ride. I'd even consider it to be one of the best HBO Max shows right now.
We've watched Harrison Fishman and Dylan Redford as they filmed for over two years where they traveled across the country, immersing themselves in neighbors' lives to "capture an unfiltered and intimate portrait of everyday people and document the fundamentally American pursuits of life, liberty, and property."

I didn't expect to get so invested in it, but here we are, and we know that more episodes are on the way soon.
Speaking about the renewal, Nina Rosenstein, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming, Late Night & Specials, said in a press release: “Everyone has a neighbor story, and Dylan and Harrison have a knack for finding ones that make you laugh, cringe, and make it impossible to look away.
"At a time when even the smallest disagreements can spiral out of control, Neighbors feels both hilariously absurd and surprisingly relatable. What makes the show special isn’t just the stories and people they find, but the empathy and humanity they bring to each episode. Season 2 can’t come soon enough!”
Why I'm hooked on HBO's Neighbors

Being a fly on the wall for these complicated and chaotic disputes has been a blast, and I've loved getting to know the various people that appear throughout the show.
Season 1 documents all sorts of issues from a heated debate amongst beachgoers and private homeowners to an obsession over an 8-foot concrete wall, to disagreements around a man raising livestock on his grandmother's property.
On the surface, this might not sound that interesting. But we've all had neighbors we don't like, or even hated, so despite the absurdity of some of these situations, it's also deeply relatable. Sometimes you'll clash with someone, and there's things that need sorting out.
Fishman and Redford place us right in the middle, like we're living on the same street as these people, and it's impossible to look away. Thanks to season 2, I'm very glad I won't have to for a while.
