Adam Blevins began working in the entertainment industry in 2022 as a Staff Writer for Agents of Fandom, where he progressed to Senior Editor and interviewed talent from Marvel Studios, House of the Dragon, and Planet of the Apes. He joined Collider as a News Author in April 2024, was promoted to a Senior position in December 2024, and has written over 3,000 articles for the site, including exclusives relating to Avengers: Doomsday, The Penguin, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, and more. He primarily writes about the latest box office numbers and the hottest movies and TV shows on streaming, while also covering superhero and sci-fi news. He has completed a set visit for The Chosen and even has several months of experience writing Gaming Features at ScreenRant. You can find him on X, LinkedIn, and Muckrack.
Josh Brolin is one of the most underrated A-list stars in the world, and although he only has one Oscar nomination under his belt, many would argue that he deserves a few more. Brolin’s lone Oscar nomination came from starring opposite Sean Penn in Milk (2008), but he also delivered one of his finest performances the year prior in No Country for Old Men, which also stars Tommy Lee Jones and Javier Bardem. Brolin is held in high regard for his commanding performances in a pair of Sicario movies penned by Taylor Sheridan, and he dipped his toe into the blockbuster world by starring as Thanos in several Avengers movies. Rumors have it that he’ll be back in Doomsday later this year, but this has yet to be confirmed.
However, when you’ve been in as many movies as Josh Brolin, it’s only natural that there will be some misses mixed in. 16 years ago, Brolin teamed up with Megan Fox, John Malkovich, and even Michael Fassbender for Jonah Hex, the wacky sci-fi Western following an outlaw who has a chance to clear his name if he finds a dangerous criminal. Jonah Hex grossed only $10 million at the box office against a $47 million budget, and it earned disastrous scores of 11% from critics and 20% from audiences on the aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes. Jonah Hex is currently streaming on HBO Max, but unfortunately, the streamer has confirmed that the last day to watch the film will be on February 28. HBO Max is its only streaming home, but it’s unclear where it will migrate once it leaves the platform.
