Brittany Mahomes Sends Message to Patrick Mahomes Haters Ahead of Super Bowl
Are you ready for Super Bowl LIX? The Kansas City Chiefs certainly are.
In just a few hours, the Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce-led team will face off against the Philadelphia Eagles—who they previously beat at the 2023 Super Bowl—at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
Indeed, while this second match up feels like déjà vu, the Chief’s chance at victory holds a bigger title this time around: a historic third consecutive Super Bowl win.
First, let’s lay down some history. The Chiefs have appeared in six Super Bowls, and with their upcoming game, this will mark the team’s third appearance in a row. (The team also won their matchup against the San Francisco 49ers last year.) Historically, no NFL team has won three Super Bowls in a row; the Kansas City squad is currently one of eight teams to secure the back-to-back feat. But if the Chiefs take home the trophy on Feb. 9, they’ll officially own that title.
Similar to the Chiefs, this year will mark the sixth time the Eagles have made it to the Super Bowl. Their face off against the Chiefs in 2023 was historic itself, as Travis and his now-retired brother Jason Kelce—who served as the Eagles’ center—became the first siblings to play against one another. The tight end took home the victory, and he later described the win as a “weird feeling.”
“There's nothing you can really say to a loved one in a situation like that,” Travis said during a postgame interview in February 2023, wiping away his tears. “You know, you joke around all the time and say you want to beat your brother in the biggest stage ever, but it’s a weird feeling. That team had great leadership, great coaches. Obviously, it came down to the end and we got all the respect in the world for those Eagles, man.”

Jason, 37, announced his retirement the following season, but that didn’t stop him from supporting his younger brother at future games. The former player attended the Chief’s recent championship game against the Buffalo Bills, and even posted a sweet compliment on Travis’ blocking skills on social media.
Jason wasn’t the only star in attendance, as Taylor Swift also supported her boyfriend Travis in the crowd. After sharing a signature kiss on the field, the duo continued their celebration at an after party.
