Harry Styles has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Aperture,” the lead single off his upcoming album “Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.”
“Aperture” marks his third song to hit the peak on the singles chart. “As It Was” bowed atop the chart in April 2022 and held strong for 15 weeks, while “Watermelon Sugar” spent a week at No. 1 in August 2020. “Aperture” is his eighth solo top 10 on the Hot 100; he previously had six top 10s as part of One Direction.
Styles’ chart-topping debut comes just hours after he graced the stage at the Grammy Awards to present album of the year to Bad Bunny for “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.” The British singer is gearing up for the release of his next project, slated for March 6, which will be followed by a global tour that includes a staggering 30 nights at New York city’s Madison Square Garden.
Elsewhere on the Hot 100, Ella Langley scores a career high with “Choosin’ Texas” at No. 2, followed by Olivia Dean’s “Man I Need,” Huntr/x’s “Golden” and Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia.” Rounding out spots six through 10 are Bruno Mars’ “I Just Might,” Alex Warren’s “Ordinary,” Sombr’s “Back to Friends,” Kehlani’s “Folded” and Swift’s “Opalite.”
Over on the albums chart, Megadeth earned its first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with its self-titled album, which is apparently its last. Morgan Wallen slots behind them at No. 2 with “I’m the Problem,” followed by Olivia Dean’s “The Art of Loving,” Zach Bryan’s “With Heaven on Top” and A$AP Rocky’s “Don’t Be Dumb.” Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl” lands at No. 6, followed by YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s “Slime Cry,” the “KPop Demon Hunters” soundtrack, “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS” and SZA’s “SOS.”
