Chris is a Senior News Writer for Collider. He can be found in an IMAX screen, with his eyes watering and his ears bleeding for his own pleasure. He joined the news team in 2022 and accidentally fell upwards into a senior position despite his best efforts.

For reasons unknown, he enjoys analyzing box office receipts, giant sharks, and has become known as the go-to man for all things Bosch, Mission: Impossible and Christopher Nolan in Collider's news division. Recently, he found himself yeehawing along to the Dutton saga on the Yellowstone Ranch.

He is proficient in sarcasm, wit, Photoshop and working unfeasibly long hours. Amongst his passions sit the likes of the history of the Walt Disney Company, the construction of theme parks, steam trains and binge-watching Gilmore Girls with a coffee that is just hot enough to scald him.

His obsession with the Apple TV+ series Silo is the subject of mockery within the Senior News channel, where his feelings about Taylor Sheridan's work are enough to make his fellow writers roll their eyes.

The trolley witch on the Hogwarts Express is no stranger to bringing us all the sweetest treats imaginable when we're heading back on the train up to school. Pumpkin pasties, cauldron cakes, you name it, she's got it. And when you're a first-year student with a bag full of galleons, you're obviously going to take the lot. But there's an important thing that needs to be considered, right? When Harry Potter is hitting our screens again, we no longer have to wonder where all of these delicious sweet treats have come from. Accio baking!

Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking is officially returning for Season 3 on Wednesday, November 4, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Food Network and HBO Max, with the competition introducing a major new twist to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first Harry Potter movie. This time, four teams of three returning contestants will represent Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin, competing to win the Wizards of Baking Cup and a VIP trip to Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter. It's one heck of a prize, and it'll make the Triwizard Tournament seem like small potatoes. Collider is thrilled to exclusively reveal the first look at the newest season with a new trailer below.

The new season once again features James and Oliver Phelps, who played Fred and George Weasley in the original movies, as hosts. However, they'll be joined by two new judges, Duff Goldman and Sarah Mountain, who will serve as the show's "Ministers of Baking." Each team features returning cake artists, bakers and pastry chefs who previously competed on the series but have never won the trophy. Oliver Phelps teased the enormous creations awaiting viewers, saying:

"We're so excited for all Harry Potter and baking show fans across the world to see this season's amazing showpieces. The all-star teams will leave our audience spellbound."

James Phelps was equally enthusiastic about returning to Hogwarts for another season, particularly with the anniversary celebrations giving the competition an extra reason to go all out. "We feel like the luckiest hosts because we get to be part of this fun tournament, with some of the world's best bakers and chefs, and celebrate the anniversary of the first film in a series that sparked a global phenomenon," he said.

'Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking' Is Bringing Back Some Iconic Locations

The seven-episode season begins with a supersized two-hour premiere, where the four Hogwarts Houses will face their first challenges. The bakers must create elaborate cakes inspired by memorable moments from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, presenting their creations against the backdrop of the famous Quidditch Pitch. And because apparently one enormous cake isn't enough, they'll immediately be challenged to create another showpiece inspired by their favorite spells.

Throughout the competition, the teams will tackle challenges inspired by the Chamber of Secrets, the Dark Arts, the Weasley family and the ongoing battle between good and evil. The series will also return to several famous locations from the movies, including Hagrid's Hut, Ollivander's Wand Shop, the Burrow, the Ministry of Magic and the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. The fourth episode will also feature a guest appearance from Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, who joins the judging panel for a special Dark Arts challenge.

Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking Season 3 premieres November 4 on Food Network and HBO Max in the United States. Stay tuned at Collider for more.
