Jeff Dodge (he/him), a published author and graduate of Western Washington University, has been a TV news editor for many years and has had the chance to interview multiple reality show stars, including Randy Jackson, Nick Cannon, Heidi Klum, Mel B and John Cena. Fun Fact: he’s been to every single Idol Live! Tour.

One of the stars of the upcoming Harry Potter TV show has teased her expanded role in season 2 after having a limited presence in the eight-episode first season.

However, she assured fans that she'll be seen on screen more in future seasons. "I do a lot more on the second series," she revealed.

The actress added that she found the younger cast members on the Harry Potter TV show to be "completely enchanting," which came as a relief because she'll "be with them for probably a long time."

Aside from the actors, she added that the set is a great environment to be in, and she likes the wig and costume that she has to wear as Molly.

"I have found those young children just completely enchanting, [which is a relief] because I'm going to be with them for probably a long time. I haven't done much yet. I do a lot more on the second series. But, yeah, it's a great set to be on, and I really like my wig and costume."

Parkinson's comments align with the plot of the source material and the film adaptations.

In the very first book, Molly is introduced in an early scene when Harry Potter is trying to find Platform 9 3/4 at the train station. He overhears her complaining about how packed the station is with Muggles, which catches his attention.

Harry admits that he doesn't know how to get onto the platform, so Molly explains the process, and he proceeds to get onto the Hogwarts Express without issue.

At the end of the book, when Harry and the rest of his classmates head back home after his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry ends, Molly shows up one more time to greet her children and has a very brief interaction with Harry's disgruntled aunt and uncle.

This scene wasn't included in the movie adaptation, so Molly only appears once in the first film.

However, she has a larger presence in the sequel, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, including when Harry visits the Weasleys at the Burrow, when everyone goes to buy school supplies at Diagon Alley and at the end of the story after one of the Weasley children is put in grave danger.

The second season, which will adapt Chamber of Secrets on the small screen, is expected to begin filming in the fall.

Before being cast as Molly Weasley, Parkinson had starred on shows like Doc Martin, Humans, The IT Crowd and Rivals, and won an Olivier Award for her performance in the play Home, I'm Darling.

Now she's stepping into the world of Harry Potter, where she's succeeding Julie Walters, who played Molly in the movies. Her character's kids are played by Alastair Stout (Ron), Gracie Cochrane (Ginny), Tristan Harland (Fred), Gabriel Harland (George) and Ruari Spooner (Percy).

Cochrane will only be playing Ginny in the first season, though, after it was recently announced that the young actress is stepping away from the franchise due to unforeseen circumstances.

Dominic McLaughlin and Arabella Stanton are playing Harry and Hermione Granger, respectively, in the Harry Potter TV reboot, and their co-stars include John Lithgow, Janet McTeer, Paapa Essiedu, Nick Frost, Lox Pratt and Warwick Davis.

Harry Potter season 1 will premiere in December 2026 on HBO and HBO Max.
