Actor Awards 2026: Harrison Ford Cheekily Reveals His and Calista Flockhart's Marriage Rule

Harrison Ford chose wisely when it came to his romance with Calista Flockhart.

And one way the couple have maintained harmony during their 15-year marriage? The Indiana Jones star maintains an important rule when it comes to giving suggestions to the Ally McBeal alum.

As Harrison shared with Justin Sylvester on Live From E!: Actor Awards 2026 at the Shrine Auditorium March 1, “I don't tell my wife what to do.”

In fact, while the 83-year-old might have some pull when it comes to casting decisions for his show Shrinking, he certainly would never dream of telling Calista—with whom he shares son Liam, 25—that she needs to be on it, adding, “That would be up to her.”

For now, Harrison—who hit the red carpet with Calista in coordinating black ensembles—is taking a moment to focus on his own career as he receives the Lifetime Achievement Award during the Kristen Bell-hosted ceremony. (Click here to see all the red red carpet fashion.)

“I’ve been a very lucky guy,” Harrison told E!, “and I'm very grateful for this attention and very grateful for this acknowledgement.”

“But gosh, I'm only halfway through my career,” he joked. “It’s a little early for this.”

And despite having played a slew of iconic characters throughout his career like Indiana Jones, Han Solo in Star Wars and Dr. Richard Kimble in The Fugitive, he doesn’t have a favorite one he’s portrayed.

“I’m so grateful for the opportunities I've had to play all the characters that I've played,” he said. “I’ve got to live a thousand lives—hundred lives, not a thousand.”

Harrison quipped, “I’m not that old.”

And despite being in his 80s, Harrison is very comfortable with the life he has now, especially when it comes to his marriage with Calista.

"Old people can love, too," he said on NPR's Wild Card With Rachel Martin podcast in August. "You know, you think about falling in love and all of that business, you think it’s the business of youth or something.”

“Staying in love is the issue,” he explained. “Maintaining, nurturing, basically, not f--king up."
