With Arcane finally returning for its second season, the show has instantly made a huge impression among viewers, but Hailee Steinfeld already has the perfect replacement just a month after the Netflix series comes to an end. After the success of season 1 back in 2021, Arcane season 2 has picked up right where it left off as Act 1 has received phenomenal reviews across the board. Alongside the continuation of Vi and Jinx's emotional story, Vi and Caitlyn's relationship took a massive turn during the end of Arcane season 2's first act, setting up a thrilling next few episodes.
As a result, the League of Legends adaptation has quickly become one of the most talked about shows on TV, but with the series set to end for good, it leaves questions about what's next for Steinfeld after playing Vi. The actress is clearly a crucial part of Arcane's cast as her character is the closest thing the show has to a protagonist, which makes leaving this role behind extremely difficult. Luckily, Steinfeld has a suitable replacement already in the pipeline, and with it scheduled for release in December, it won't be long before she is back in the limelight.
Marvel’s What If...? Is The Perfect Next Project For Hailee Steinfeld After Arcane Season 2
Steinfeld Will Have Two Hit Animated Projects Just A Month Apart
Despite only just returning after a three-year hiatus, Arcane season 2 is scheduled to end on November 23, but What If...? offers Steinfeld the ideal replacement. Although the shows have completely different tones, the actress jumping from one animated project to another just a month apart is perfect timing, especially as she will once again play a familiar character. Voicing Vi in season 1 meant Arcane viewers already knew they were in for another incredible voice acting performance from Steinfeld, and she is now set to appear as Kate Bishop in Marvel's What If...?, who she already played in live-action.
Having appeared as the hero in both Hawkeye and briefly in The Marvels, fans know exactly what to expect from Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, meaning her involvement will be welcomed with open arms. Little is known about exactly what stories will feature in What If...? season 3, but the anthology series will allow her to provide a slightly different take on the character, as Kate can be seen wearing a cowboy hat in the trailer.
Steinfeld's voice acting history also suggests she will have no problem transitioning from her darker Arcane role into the more light-hearted Kate Bishop.
Steinfeld's voice acting history also suggests she will have no problem transitioning from her darker Arcane role into the more light-hearted Kate Bishop, which will be a nice change of pace. Even though it will be a much smaller role compared to Vi, the actress continuing to raise the stock of her MCU character seems like the perfect follow-up to Arcane season 2, and I'm excited to see what she can do in Marvel's hit animated show.
What If...? Season 3 Looks Exciting, But It Will Have A Hard Time Surpassing Arcane Season 2
Marvel's Anthology Series Needs Something Special To Outperform Arcane's Stellar Second Season
What If...? season 3's teaser trailer suggested the next installment has plenty of potential, but surpassing Arcane season 2 will be a mammoth task. Despite the show's slightly divisive reputation, the reviews for the first two seasons of What If...? have been mostly positive, suggesting Steinfeld will be joining an all-but-guaranteed success. However, the anthology aspect of the show means some episodes may be hit or miss, putting pressure on Kate Bishop's story to perform. Even if her episode is great, the inconsistent nature of the series means it's likely to lag behind Arcane.

Hailee Steinfeld's Casting In Fellow MCU Star's New Movie Finally Fixes An 8-Year Streak, And It Makes It More Exciting
One Marvel Cinematic Universe actor has cast fellow MCU star Hailee Steinfeld in his upcoming film, breaking a longstanding streak for her.
So far, Arcane season 2 has continued Steinfeld's impressive TV streak, and the high ratings for Act 1 hint at the project continuing its quality throughout its entire run. Both seasons boast a 100% Tomatometer score and a 96% audience score, highlighting just how strong the reception is to the video game adaptation. The breathtaking visuals, incredible storytelling, and detailed characters have all combined to make Arcane season 2 one of 2024's best TV shows, and if What If...? has any chances of overcoming it, Marvel will have to produce one of its best projects yet.
Why Arcane Season 2 Is One Of The Most Exciting Projects Of Hailee Steinfeld’s Career
The Climax To Arcane's Emotional Story Has Been Three Years In The Making
Having been part of some truly remarkable projects throughout her career, Hailee Steinfeld's resume has been fantastic, but Arcane season 2 makes a case for being her most exciting yet. The first season caught many people off guard as video game adaptations weren't nearly as popular three years ago as they are now. In addition, League of Legends is a relatively niche game despite its large player base, making the quality and emotion of Netflix's adaptation a welcome surprise, and the three-year wait has only added to the show's reputation, which has been well worth the wait.
Arcane Season 2, Act 2 will premiere on November 16, and Act 3 will premiere on November 23.
With season 2 starting off strong and somehow matching the reviews of the first installment, it looks like Arcane will cement its legacy as one of the best animated shows ever made when it's all said and done. Steinfeld has also been part of some all-time great animated movies, as her Spider-Verse films are bona fide classics, but Arcane is still among her best work, and she deserves plenty of credit for her contribution to what could be the best TV role of her career so far.
Set in the League of Legends universe, Arcane focuses on sisters Violet and Powder (later Jinx) as they end up on opposite sides of a growing conflict between the wealthy utopia of Piltover and its dark undercity whose citizens wish to break away from their oppressors. Hailee Steinfeld, Ella Purnell, and Kevin Alejandro star in this animated adventure.
