Chris is a Senior News Writer for Collider. He can be found in an IMAX screen, with his eyes watering and his ears bleeding for his own pleasure. He joined the news team in 2022 and accidentally fell upwards into a senior position despite his best efforts.
For reasons unknown, he enjoys analyzing box office receipts, giant sharks, and has become known as the go-to man for all things Bosch, Mission: Impossible and Christopher Nolan in Collider's news division. Recently, he found himself yeehawing along to the Dutton saga on the Yellowstone Ranch.
He is proficient in sarcasm, wit, Photoshop and working unfeasibly long hours. Amongst his passions sit the likes of the history of the Walt Disney Company, the construction of theme parks, steam trains and binge-watching Gilmore Girls with a coffee that is just hot enough to scald him.
His obsession with the Apple TV+ series Silo is the subject of mockery within the Senior News channel, where his feelings about Taylor Sheridan's work are enough to make his fellow writers roll their eyes.
Sherlock Holmes is getting a serious glow-down — and Guy Ritchie is the one holding the camera. Prime Video has dropped the first trailer for Young Sherlock, an action-heavy origin story that reimagines the legendary detective as a rebellious teenager with a knack for trouble and a nose for conspiracy. Directed and executive produced by Guy Ritchie, the series promises a high-energy, stylized spin on one of fiction’s most iconic minds.
Leading the charge is Hero Fiennes Tiffin as a youthful Sherlock Holmes, long before Baker Street, the deerstalker, and the pipe. This young whippersnapper is sharp, charismatic, and more than a little reckless — traits that land him in the middle of his first major case when he crosses paths with none other than James Moriarty. When the series was announced, it was teased with the following:
With all the wit and charm of Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes feature films, Young Sherlock follows the origin story of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s beloved detective in an explosive re-imagining of this iconic character’s early days. Sherlock Holmes is a disgraced young man – raw and unfiltered – when he finds himself wrapped up in a murder case that threatens his liberty. His first ever case unravels a globe-trotting conspiracy that changes his life forever. Unfolding in 1870s Oxford and adventuring abroad, the series will expose the early antics of the anarchic adolescent who is yet to evolve into Baker Street’s most renowned resident.
