It is hard to believe that there are just over six months to go until the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI. With us officially being as close to its release date than ever before, it seems as though we are finally on the home stretch and, this time next year, we will be getting to explore Leonida and beyond in the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto continuation.
After three delays, it is safe to say that the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI has been a long time coming, especially as it has been well over a decade since we received the last entry, Grand Theft Auto V, way back in 2013. However, it seems as though all of our waiting has paid off, and GTA VI is set to launch on 19 November 2026.
However, with Rockstar Games yet to announce potential pre-orders and with there being no signs of a potential third trailer, fans have been worrying, but it seems as though May will be the month when marketing for GTA VI will ramp up in earnest. At least, according to one user over on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours.
Taking to Reddit this weekend, the user believes that hints from both Sony and Game Informer suggest that pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI could be announced this week. Why, you may ask? Well, the user in question has put together a list of reasons why this could come true and, when seeing them all laid out like this, it is hard to deny that they could be correct. First, Game Informer has been hinting at a major cover story for 12 May, but has refused to release any hints. Additionally, Sony itself is not currently hosting any major deals and has revealed that they will be back on 13 May. As such, the Reddit user believes that "Sony may be clearing the way for GTA VI to have the spotlight on May 12th if pre-orders were to go live that same day. That way, the store doesn’t crash and people aren’t also purchasing deals on top of GTA VI pre-orders."

Not only that, but with Take-Two investor's call set to take place on 21 May, this could be the perfect time for them to discuss the results of GTA VI's pre-orders and potential third trailer marketing.
Of course, it is worth taking all of this with a pinch of salt. Although the information is correct, nothing has yet been confirmed or announced by Rockstar itself. However, with time quickly ticking away, fans are eager to see that third trailer and for those pre-orders to open up, especially with Grand Theft Auto VI set to be the biggest video game release of all time. No pressure.
