GTA 6 Official Pre-Order Update Revealed, Mark Your Calendars

2 weeks ago 23

The upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto VI is finally set to go ahead in November, after two major delays pushed the original launch plans back over a year. While the game was already supposed to be in our hands by now, most fans have made peace with the realities of game production, but it has had the knock-on effect of ramping up anticipation further.

As part of that, we are now officially closer to the big day than ever before, and fans are assuming that pre-orders for the game are likely going to go live soon. Unfortunately, we haven't really heard too much from those in the know in that regard, but there has been another update that might open the door for purchases to begin soon.

As reported by GAMINGbible, (via GTA BOOM), Strauss Zelnick did recently comment on their plans around pre-orders for the game at the recent Take-Two earnings call. Sadly, what he didn't do was give us a date, instead saying he had "absolutely no idea" when Rockstar was planning to open listings of the game on the various stores.

That said, Take-Two Interactive submitted an official 10K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission in the United States, which affirmed their plans, saying, "The label released its first trailer for the title in December 2023 and the second in May 2025, and will share more details this summer."

The summer officially begins this year in the USA on June 21, so we almost certainly won't hear anything about a new trailer or pre-orders before then. This is about as weighty as evidence gets as well, with the official nature of the filing absolutely binding for the company that submitted it.

Zelnick also reaffirmed the company's commitment to really beginning their push towards launch in the Summer, during the recent earnings call, so it would be quite surprising if they pivoted so close to the fact.

Other than analysing every piece of information that comes in, no matter how small it is, all we can really do is sit tight and wait to hear more about the game from Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive.

Unless they are planning to drop another delay on our heads, which seems hugely unlikely at this point, it's only a matter of time before we get the last GTA VI trailer and all the finalized details around the game, which should be a very exciting day for the community indeed.
