Whilst the countdown to Grand Theft Auto VI continues to speed up in earnest, there is still an elephant in the room. With the first official trailer releasing way back in December 2023, and the second following in May 2025, it has officially been well over a year since we got our look at the highly anticipated Rockstar title. Not only that, but with neither trailer being solely dedicated to gameplay, the delay in the release of a third trailer has greatly concerned fans over the past few years.
Now, with just four months to go until the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, an official gameplay trailer must be around the corner, and now it is believed it could be released some time in August.
According to well-known gaming insider NateTheHate in a recent Q&A hosted on his Twitter/X account, the gameplay trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI will arrive next month. "I expect to see a fair bit of GTA 6 this month," he said, before adding, “I mean August.”
Of course, the leaker does not explicitly say that this will come in the form of a third trailer, but it will be hard to see what other way Rockstar would reveal official gameplay in any other format. Not only that, but with the use of the word "expect", it is worth noting that NateTheHate has not confirmed this, but is just using his insider knowledge to present a possible answer.
It may not be an exact confirmation, and Rockstar itself stays quiet on the matter, but with NateTheHate being responsible for some of the biggest, and most accurate, leaks in gaming history, it is still worth feeling hopeful about his opinions.
Not only that, but in another social media post, the leaker confirmed that “GTA 6 will arrive in November as planned” after one fan asked if he thought another delay was on the cards. It is true that, at the time of writing, Grand Theft Auto VI is still on track to launch on 19 November for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and with just four months to go, it is hard to believe that Rockstar would now announce a further delay.
That being said, with some fans concerned that we have still not received a third trailer or an official gameplay reveal, NateTheHate was back again with his thoughts on the radio silence. “[Rockstar Games] have a marketing plan & they are sticking to that plan. No reason for concern.”
With August just around the corner, it could be time for marketing of Grand Theft Auto VI to ramp up in earnest, and we can only imagine the hype that is going to build now that we are on the homestretch.
