James is a gaming writer from London who has spent thousands of hours exploring titles from every genre. Though he has a particular affinity for multiplayer titles like World of Warcraft, Destiny 2 and League of Legends, he has also put thousands of hours into single-player experiences, from deep RPGs to epic PC strategies. When he's not playing or writing, he can usually be found supporting his beloved Brentford FC.
Grand Theft Auto VI is basically guaranteed to be one of the most ambitious games we have ever seen as fans, with Rockstar's next crime-riddled epic set to cost at least $1 billion dollars to produce, according to estimates.
As such, expectations are very, very high, to the point where it's actually a little tricky to see just how Rockstar will be able to live up to them with the final product. In any case, they're going to give it a damn good go, and they're looking far beyond just the main story and inevitable multiplayer madness.
As with previous GTA releases, the single-player is set to feature a bunch of side activities to keep players interested either during the main narrative, or after it has been beaten. Now, new leaks are suggesting there could be more than ever, and one in particular could keep us playing for a very long time.
GTA 6 Looks Like It's Packed With Side Missions
Rockstar GamesOver on Reddit, one user shared a document collating a list all of the side activities that will supposedly be available in the full GTA VI release. The headline act is undoubtedly fishing, but it will be joined by dice, golf, races, and scuba diving, as well as more professional pursuits including courier work, van shipments, and, of course, robberies.
It also contains details of unique buildings, and building types, that the player will be able to enter and interact with this time around. Those include supermarkets, restaurants, bars, clubs and launderettes, many of which we saw in the first trailer for the game.
The inclusion of fishing makes a ton of sense given the Leonida Keys setting in GTA VI, which serves as a heightened take on the real-world state of Florida. Interestingly, the speargun has been included amongst the list of weapons, so it looks like we can jump in the water to get up close and personal with some very big fish.
It's Going To Be Tough To Finish GTA 6
Rockstar GamesIf you've ever played through Red Dead Redemption 2, you'll know what an immense time investment it is to 100% that game. It involves collecting, killing and visiting a ton of locations, and you're looking at hundreds of hours to get the job done.
Given that GTA VI is likely to lean into thee details even further, it's a pretty safe bet that completing everything it has to offer is going to take a very long time. That said, the game won't come cheap, so everyone will be expecting a lot of bang for their buck.
