GTA 6 Fans Are Furious Over Official Third Trailer Date

Grand Theft Auto 6 hopefuls are fiercely debating the potential release dates for the third trailer. With GTA 6's original release date fast approaching, and its new release only a few months away, the already breathless excitement for what's expected to be the biggest entertainment release of all time is only growing.

Following an X (formerly Twitter) post by prediction market Kalshi, which claimed that there's a 50% chance of GTA 6 getting a new trailer in May, GTA news account GTA 6 Countdown asserted that the actual chance was much higher, citing multiple pieces of evidence. However, some fans disagree about the exact timing.

First, the Take-Two earnings call is in May. Having a new trailer, or at least a trailer release date to point to, gives Take-Two another positive point to report to shareholders, especially at the beginning of their fiscal year. Although these calls are ostensibly for investors, they are reliable and consistent sources of GTA news, and many fans have taken to listening in.

User Game Media comments, "I still believe it'll be before the earnings call," while Rafay says "Let's be practical. We aren't getting anything before June."

Then, the second GTA 6 trailer will celebrate its one-year anniversary on May 6. This isn't really how these things work, as much as fans want to believe it is — the anniversary of a trailer is not necessarily something to be celebrated, even if it's one as massive as this.

The third theory is a little more compelling: GTA 6's original release date is May 26, 2026. "Wouldn't be surprised at all if the third trailer did come out on the 26th, as a show of good will/ apology from Rockstar for not releasing on this date," says Randall Goins, "especially with their marketing campaign starting this summer... it'd be a good way to kick it off."

Still others say, forget the old release date — GTA 6's new release date isn't even going to hold. These theories sound good, comments Filthy Beast, "Until you realize Rockstar is about to announce another delay any day now." "This game is not coming out this year," another user comments, "I already accepted it for my mental health."Either way, I do think it's safe to say a third trailer isn't too far off. May might be a stretch, but the game is only a little more than six months out, and, as far as we know, we still haven't seen any actual gameplay in the two trailers that have been released to date. I wouldn't get my hopes up or buy into any conspiracy theories, but I have to imagine a third Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer is coming soon.
