You would think that us gamers would be a tougher bunch. After all, in our spare time we've commanded armies and conquered worlds. But even the mere mention of another delay for Grand Theft Auto 6 can bring the most hardened among us to our knees. Many among us have booked time off work or are planning a mysterious illness to take hold of us come November 2026. Yes, we've got the rather contagious GTA 6 infection and its taken hold.

GTA6 Reddit Post Reddit

Looking back after almost a year and realizing that we were initially supposed to be playing Grand Theft Auto 6 this month feels frustrating. Yes, of course, we want the game to be ready at launch, and it's reasonable to give it as much time in the oven as it needs if we're truly hoping for something special. But...that doesn't make the waiting any easier. Fans on Reddit have been sharing their thoughts as we celebrate (kind of) the anniversary of 'what could have been.' Some Redditors saw the timehop photo and feared the worst:

Little panic that it was delayed into 2027 lmao

and:

I held my breath and refused to breathe until I read the date.

While others are happy to wait even longer if it means we get an excellent game to play as the end result:

As long as Jason’s jiggle physics are absolutely perfect... I’ll wait as long as it takes.

Reflecting on the original timeline and realizing that May was the month we were supposed to be getting GTA 6 feels like a cruel twist of faith. Imagine, we were moments away from stepping foot for the first time in Leonidas, only to now have to wait a further six months to get our first taste of Grand Theft Auto 6. C'est la Vie.

As cruel as it is to keep us waiting like this, it's better than getting another delayed announcement. Fears of a third GTA 6 delay are real. Although, with us now only six months out, it feels like it's almost too late for Rockstar to delay again, right? Sure, our minds would be better at ease if they showed us some more of the game though. It feels like we're overdue a third gameplay trailer or, better yet, a marketing roadmap that outlines every sneak peek we'll get leading up to launch.

With May being the month that should have been so special for GTA fans, perhaps Rockstar will take some pity on us and throw us some new content to gush over and scrutinize to the nth degree. Also, if they could please put to bed the GTA 6 price tag discussion that has us all on edge and let us know how much it will cost, that'd be great.

Whatever happens next, let's at least hope that Grand Theft Auto 6 can live up to some of the hype that's been generated around it. As for the gamers patiently waiting...stay strong my friends, November 2026 will be here in no time.
